Shouldn't be smoking so close to that fish, almost going to burn it, either that or your stare... nice fish dude
  2. If you fish the bow, or anywhere for that matter, just be careful that time of year. Could be lots of debris in the flows, and fast currents.
  3. well said...my thoughts exactly Mine would have to big a big pike that I hooked into in the bow. Stripped my fly almost to my feet and then it slammed the fly out of nowhere. Set the hook and my 8wt was doubled over. It sat there for a moment, turned its head and took off, and that was that. It has given me pike fever ever since.
  4. No you don't need it on you. Your WIN # will be on your printed license. Unless you do run into a cranky CO...I have been asked to show my drivers license once along with my fishing license for proof of who I was, so might not hurt to keep something else to identify yourself.
  5. Came up a while ago, looks like a good idea to me. http://flyfishcalgary.com/board/index.php?...p;hl=monomaster
  6. 2 med c&f boxes for nymphs and dries, 1 large clear plastic for attractor/terrestrials, 2 large plano boxes for streamers, and few other larger clear ones to hold some more nymphs and streamers...don't want to not have the fly that I need!
  7. If you were driving by their old location up in the NW they are no longer there, yes. New address of store is 620-8th Ave SW.
  8. Ya, definately should be a fly in everyone's box IMO. The key is to get all the guard hares out, to get to the good dubbing. I find that you have only a little amount to play with right close to the bones that is good for dubbing (wrecked a few pairs of scissors in the process). I usually just take one foot and cut away the guard hairs and get the dubbing from it and keep the other for the wings/tails. I made the mistake of using the top of the foot and trying to dub the guard hairs when I 1st used it, but finally found out what works best.
  9. Been using it for almost any of my dries that have a wing of some sort. Stuff floats great. The underfur makes for some good dubbing as well. PS the usual sucks....don't ever use it.
  10. Couldn't agree more. Leopold should be a better player to know that looking at your feet for the puck is a big no no as a d. Not sure why they put Dion for both power play lines too, its not like he's getting anything done out there. My hope is that Keenan starts Curt on Sunday. I'm sure they will put forward a better game and they need to boost his confidence if Kipper goes down.
  11. Aquaseal is not bad as well, only thing is drying time. But it is still quite flexible when it is dry.
  12. I had the old model of the III and I could barely get 80 yds of gel on mine. that's even with cutting 15' off my line as well.
  13. I got the metallica too....it was a surprise...good or bad i'm not sayin. thanks for the link though FNG
  14. apparently the person has had enough of watching the flyers lose and puts it on porn instead...
  15. Unreal pics! Thanks for sharing!
  16. Agree with Conor. Picked one up about a month ago, and wouldn't think twice about doing it again. It is a little different the my old late '70's early 80's Thompson vice!
  17. ummm guess everyone is just going to ignore this?!?!

    Caddis

I have all my standard caddis done for the year, but just came up with this. Have seen it done w/ chenille but I couldn't find mine so I used some foam. I figure with the type of hook it will increase solid hook ups. Anyway, looking for opinions. I'm on a snowshoe rabbit craze, so I like the ones w/ it as the wing better than the elk.
  20. crappy back up?? get your head straight. only time you have probably seen him play is when he starts and the team doesnt show up, doesnt say hes a bad goalie at all. i agree with you that they are/might ruin him. cant expect a goalie to play every 3 months and play stellar. its real easy to sit in the stands in critique.
  21. Thanks Don, Have heard various opinions from people about what hooks are most effective, figured you'd know as well as anyone. Will take a look at those hooks for sure. Din
  22. just a few there don ... what kind of hooks do you mostly tie them on/find most successful, straight or curved shanks??
  23. Thanks man, email sent.
  24. I figure this is worth a shot. I'm a recent graduate (April '08) w/ a B. Comm, major in accounting. I'm in the midst of trying to find some work related to my degree. If you have any leads for me it would be great to hear from you..I have applied to several places, but hoping that someone may know of an opportunity. Feel free to shoot me a PM. Thanks for the help! Mitch
