  1. A friend pointed me in the direction of the HMH vises. I like the looks of them (haven't used one yet), as you can adjust the angle of the jaws. I have used a renzetti one (not sure of the model) but found the angle, and how the jaws were quite low, to be quite difficult. These vices look good and are reasonably priced. May be worth checking out. You can check those vises out at: http://hmhvises.com/spartan.html
  2. go see a chiropractor. probably your hips are out of place. I know I have that problem occasionally, and after a quick adjustment, everything is fine. I doubt its your waders... my .02
  3. Congrats clyde!!! Great ties by everyone! Thanks DBT for setting it up along with all the other contests!

  5. nice ties man. you can also try throwing some krystal flash over the thorax area...I've had some good luck with this fly recently on the bow:

  9. haha thats not bad.....last month i had a 530$ bill!!! couldn't believe it. same as you...women. making installment pmt's....no way i could fork over that much money.....
  10. Just think though....come after the 5 yrs, the gov't will get another 10k when they do it again for spending it on whatever they want..... I agree, growing up in a small town, I found that many hunters/fishers poached with complete disregard for the laws.
  11. wow. thank god i didn't make it past the 1st round . unbelievable ties everyone!!!
  12. that would have been nice if mine was that when my vehicle was stolen....my home owners was $2k.
  13. sorry to hear man. 3 board members with stolen vehicles in the last year...me, birchy and you. Hope you get your gear back. I had all mine in my vehicle, but was there when they busted the guys. Check with your home owner insurance. my deductible was too high, but you can claim it under there as its not covered under vehicle insurance (at least mine anyways).
  14. I think you would be fine with 4x...I have a 5x spool that I have used maybe a handful of times both on my 6 and 4 wt. You may not be able to get the real fussy fish, but if my 4x spooks them I don't bother and move on. If you fish cuttie streams, 4x is all you will need imo. I regularly use 3x on them streams with the same success as 4x. I tend to get too excited when I see a fish rise to my fly and 5x breaks on me every time.... my 0.02
  15. thanks bud, been in class all day...no fishing today...

    The Fly Boxes

nice boxes dude... thought id throw mine in the mix too. not my boxes i take with me but just were i put em when i finish tying them. my nymph box is 70% full already without adding the ones in the storage box. as you can see, i don't tie many dries...too hard for me at the moment... Nymphs Stones/Worms/Terrestrials: Dries: Streamers:
  20. If it was me, I'd go back to the store you bought it from. They may give you another one, while sending yours away and they just get the new one when it comes in, not leaving you stranded without a line....Troutfitters has been great to me for that. Had line troubles(much the same as yours) with two lines and they replaced them for me and shipped my bad ones off to SA.
