  1. Depends what dry and what dropper. A large dry like a hopper will float even with a BH nymph however a small elk hair caddis won't. If the dropper isn't weighted then it will. It's just about figuring out what works with what. My best combos so far are a hopper with a hare's ear or pheasant tail and an elk hair caddis with an unweighted prince nymph.
  2. Laughing my butt off!
  3. Those are the bulls I saw swim by me and stick their nose up at my offering. Way to go dude! Nice fish.
  4. Sweet! Thanks pacreseltoro. That was exactly what I was looking for.
  5. Thanks guys. I'll try a bit of each and see what I likes.
  6. Patience is indeed the key word here. I don't think I have any left after my last outing. But persistence will pay off too, I'll be back.
  7. Exactly what weir - Carseland or the Headworks Division?
  8. Does anyone use an egg pattern in the local streams? I've been advised to try an egg pattern in BC lakes and just wondering if they work here as well. To me they work where there are salmon but I'm sure I'm wrong as usual.
  9. Anyone have a recipe for an ice cream cone fly? I can't seem to find a reliable source. They look simple to tie and I would like to throw a few together for my upcoming trip to BC.
  10. I like this one very much. I'm gonna give it a "tie" (try).
  11. I'm about to tie some scuds for the first time. I've seen scud back material sold in packages but my pattern calls for a ziploc bag. I like this idea as it's really cheap. Does this work? Any other types of plastics to try other than ziploc bags(I figure they are fairly durable)?
  12. Good point! LOL!
  13. Great minds think alike.
  14. Cool! Thanks guys, I'll give it a shot.
  15. I've been up there for 9 years and finally this year I saw my first bear. In the last 2 times of been out (June 10 and June 18) I've now seen 4. Crazy. We also saw some really beautiful bull elk.
  16. Here is one of the bears we saw. He was along highway 40. How do you get bigger pictures on here? This one is so small but huge on the computer (had to cut it down to 100kb) but I've seen others that are much bigger. Never mind. Figured it out.
  17. I know the test. I've been given it stream side. Did very well. Only screwed up on the Lake Trout simply cause I've never caught one nor even knew about them. This was in like 1998 when I first moved to Cowtown. Only been stopped 3 times since that first one. So 4 stops in 9 years. And 3 of them were in the last 2 years.
  18. Rainbows. Bulls are a close runner up.
  19. Sweet dude! Great pics. Looks like a great trip.
  20. Birchy summed it up - SKUNKED! The bears were definitely the highlight. I love watching these things, at a distance. I'll be back, I will not be beat. There were 3 other guys in pontoons and they didn't look like they had any more success than we did. Hopefully they got something before we arrived. I hope we didn't get too close to them either. We fished different water and they were moving away so I think we were good. If you guys are on here and think we got too close sorry dudes. I figured you were moving away but I could have been wrong. What to you call a fisherman slipping on a muddy hill? WET BIRCHY!
  21. Ah man. GROANER! Keep 'em coming.
  22. I kind of suspected that. Thanks guys.
