I haven't been up there the last couple of years due to the 4x4s but when I was up there the Brookies took everything I could throw at them. Clousers and hare's ear were the best. I had small Brookies smaller than the clouser try to hit it. It was so fun watching these little guys. Don't pass up the really shallow riffles with undercut banks. I got a ton in water about 8 inches deep under the banks. Have fun!

I find lifting my rod tip a bit as it swings helps as well. This has its time and place though, doesn't work everywhere and all of the time.

I think that's a fair estimate. Sorry Birchy. We'll catch him again, he's gained some weight since last year.

Anybody out doing this? Are they still in the bays or is this opportunity gone already? Any suggestions on where to go? I've got Newell and Crawling Valley as a destination, how are these fishing? I know lots of questions. I'm trying to get my first pike on the fly this year but time is against me it seems. I hope I haven't missed out yet.

Yeah I remeber that. It was funny. The funnier thing is someone else did it not too long after and they all had a good laugh. I guess they didn't know me well enough. I'm allergic to fish and can't eat them. Suckers! LOL!

That is absolutely insane. Although how cool would it be to catch one of those big suckers? I'm wih LunnF on this one, in BC where we fish the fish and they don't fish us.

I was watching the news this morning and the Illinois river is infested with these asian carp. The ones that jump out of the water. There was a video somewhere on a thread showing guys shooting them with bow and arrows. Anyhoo, they completely destroy the ecosystem and push out all other fish and they just keep migrating forever. If they can't be contained to the Illinois river they could make it all the way here into the Bow. Anyone else see this? Here's to hoping that doesn't happen. They are containing them now with an electric fence in the river and so far so good.

I downloaded both and fly source works but there seems to be no one online ever and there is only 1 pattern. Superfly Fishing Machine won't install. Anyone have some pointers on either one?
