  1. Those are so sweet.
  2. Looks great! Man I haven't tied for awhile. I gotta get at her.
  3. 2 minutes tops.
  4. Oh that makes sense. I wish I worked downtown.
  5. Not true. Absolutely not. But if it is true please let my boss know.
  6. Where is it Birchy? We are all waiting.
  7. My only suggestion would be move the eyes a touch further back from the eye. Other than that it looks great! I tie mine sparse and dense depending on my mood. Both work fine but the denser ones tend to become sparse by the end of the day. LOL!
  8. Tied a bunch. So easy to tie as you said pacreseltoro.
  9. I've tied some of these. Very easy to tie. Good for pike and bullies.
  10. I'm sure this has been asked before but here I go again. I have a float tube and plan to use it for lakes. I am also considering a pontoon boat for streams and lakes. Any suggestions on a particular model? Anything to stay away from? I've been considerind the Outcast FishCat Streamer XL.
  11. Nice! Cutties don't spook too easily I find. I watched one rise like a dozen times about 2 feet away from me. First cast I had him on. I'm sure he could see me. Bright sunny day, crystal clear water, and only 2 feet away and I was in the water. I'm sure he's a bit smarted now though.
  12. I can't say enough how awesome the trip was despite the problems. You can fly in if you wish and skip the hike. Perhaps the next time I go this will be my choosen method. After all there are another 4 lakes within a couple km hike to fish and lots of streams as well. It'll be a fishing trip next time and try out the surrounding areas.

    Fry!

    Good to see. Awesome pics!
  14. Those are all great pics. I'm still skunked on those lakes. But I'm not done trying.
  15. Awesome how the lightning was caught in the pics. I was in that storm. Fortunately the worst of it missed us. A ton of trees fell, some serious winds, and a close call at the campsite nearest us. A dog was tied to a tree that fell. I'm sure that dog doesn't ever want to be tired to a tree ever again.
  16. DOH! I just washed mine yesterday. It was fairly muddy. Not that bad but close. Now I can see the shine of my bald head in the shine of the paint. LOL!
  17. that is a sweet picture!
  18. That baby wasn't actually tossed in. She confessed in court she dumped it in a dumpster. They recovered it. Still sad.
  19. Yuck! I have a similar story on the Highwood that involves some stink. I was approaching a hole and caught a wiff of brutal odor. I couldn't figure out what it was. Eventually it passed. I worked down the hole again and it came back. I figured whatever it was was between the top and bottom of the hole so I kept my eyes open. I looked down and I was standing directly on a cow that was caught in a small tree and from the flooding was covered in sand, rocks, etc. It was so disgusting. My boots had maggots on them and the stench suddenly became unbearable knowing what it was. And yes it was also disturbing. So I went to the next hole.
  20. 2. We found some really neat areas on the Jumpingpound with sweepers and deep pools but no fish. Does the fishing pick-up closer to Cochrane? There also seemed to be a lot of road construction in the area which may have adversely affected the fish. 3. I think I remember reading something about access points on the Jumpingpound a few months ago. Is it legal to cross a barbed wire fence that's strung across the river? Thanks! djk I can help you out on these 2 points. Jumpingpound is very hit and miss. Sometimes it's great other days nothing. It doesn't get any better near Cochrane and in fact the access gets worse. As for the access that fence is only there for cows/horses as already mentioned. Stay in the high water mark. This stream is notorious for grumpy land owners and my advice is go to another stream. It just isn't worth the hassle for a couple of small trout and the difficult access, etc.
  21. Well I'm back from Lake Magog in Mt. Assininboine Prov. Park in BC. Trip didn't go exactly as planned. Took 2 days to get there instead of 1. Sat in a tent for almost 2 days through a snow storm. Got blisters the size on loonies on both feet. Finally on Tuesday the sun came out and I hit the lake for some fishing. Caught 8 cutthroat in 30 minutes. It was so easy. They had spawning colours and they were very soft so I figured I'd leave the other 100 or so I could see alone. Also I stunk like fish and the grizzly sow and her cub hanging out in the area would probably have made me out for some fresh food. I fished the lake where the creek entered (there is a debate whether it's Og or Magog Creek). Helicoptered out on Wednesday and heading to Kikomun Creek Prov. Park in about an hour. It was a blast of a trip and I'd suggest it to anyone. I would also suggest either flying in or at least getting the bulk of your gear flown in. Hiking 28km with 40lbs. wears you out pretty fast. Thanks esleech for the Lake Magog Special streamer I picked up from you to catch these cutties. It worked like a charm. Perhaps the name gives it away? Lake Magog with Mt. Assininboine in the background. The creek feeding the lake. Fighting a cutty. In hand. Pushing 18".
  22. Looks good dude. Glad to see you had a good trip.
  23. Anyone ever catch a goldeye on the fly? What flies to they go after and where the heck on the Red Deer would you find them?
  24. I don't know much about the area however I have heard good things about Maligne Lake. Check it out in Barry Mitchell's Guide.
  25. I admit nothing.
