Local Wild Game Butcher
Gaffer replied to duanec's topic in General Chat - Not Fishing Related (NFR)
I know a few guys that have used a butcher based in Bowness that they have used for years. I will try to get a name. Andrew -
I am pretty sure the ring road in Edmonton, and the one this is under construction in Calgary are provincial roads, so not too much that the CoC can do about that. Regarding the signs, it is really a matter of so what. Tell me how long the traffic is going to be, great. It is not like I have too many other options once I am sitting in traffic. Once there is an accident people are already spilling off Deerfoot so every other route in the the City of f'd up anyway. I almost prefer not to know. Andrew

From the post linked above Those are sexy. Andrew -
I have known about the Candiru for several years as a girl in one of my senior parasitology classes did a lengthy paper on it. As far as they know the Candiru is the only vertebrate parasite of man. There are some tribes in the the Amazon that wear woven penis sheaths to prevent them. Andrew

He never really stopped. From beaking off in pre-games skates to cheap shot like this it is just the play of a career p*ssy. Andrew

Good article. The world need some more balance. In the same week a plane crashed in northern Alberta and someone died. It was only a sideline in the media compared to the ducks. I didn't see any mention of stopping flights. Andrew

Like most things it is probably numerous causes. Calgary has had explosive growth in the last decade so it stands to reason that there would be more people on the river. I have heard that it is the same problem with golf courses, which is one more reason not to golf. Andrew

I agree that bad manners are not limited to powerboaters, and I dont want to paint them all with the same brush. This one just happened to be a powerboating spin caster. We passed another gentleman who was wading and he said he has seen this same guy do that numerous times. Some people are dicks no matter what the fish/drive or do. I just needed to vent a little, and hopefully people will think twice about what they are doing out there. Andrew

A buddy and I got out yesterday for perhaps one of the last nice days and had a great day. Lots of nice sized rainbows and plenty of greedy small guys. An otherwise great day was interupted by some clown in a red dinghy with an jet. We were fishing a somewhat narrow streach near Cottonwood. I saw him coming up stream so I rowed a little to the nearest bank to give him some room to go up stream since I figured he would pass us and float above us. Instead this guy stops, drops anchor and low holes us 40 feet down stream right in our path. I then had to row around this clown. I doubt you are on this board as you were chuking gear but if you are you should know that the next time you will be hearing more from us about it. For me, the jury is still out about power boats on the Bow, but the more time I spend out there with clowns like this, the more my opinion leans towards no power on the bow. End rant. Andrew

This look to be another well done film. BC, Steelhead & Spey action. Touching the Soul trailer A preview of the first journey for the documentary "Touching the Soul". A low budget film project depicting a group of friends as they travel to British Columbia. Fly fishing and relating a connection between steelhead, fisherman, their surroundings, and the vibrations that effect each moment. Enjoy, Andrew

I fell this summer & tore my rotator cuff & quad where it meets my knee. Anyway, I started taking this and it has been really good. Usually I don't put much stock in this sort of stuff, but I am immpressed. Andrew -

No kidding. I will make sure to preface any humour around here with a warning. For those who are not in the know, the video is a spoof based on this LINK which was all over the internet recently I dont know if it is me or what but things are getting very up tight around here. Andrew -

No kidding. You would think that with all the anti-depresants people are peeing into the rivers people would be a little less serious. On the plus side, a double headed fish should be easier to catch. Andrew -

One feature that I like about the new Fuji cams is that you can mark pictures for upload to Facebook and they are uploaded when you connect to your computer. Also uploads video to YouTube. I am not sure if any of the other cameras do that, but it is a great way to share your pictures easily. Andrew

Are you looking for a conventional camera or a tough camera? If you are looking at rugged camera I would look at the Panasonic Lumix DMCTS2A. I was looking at one in Vistek today to replace my Fuji XP10 which is okay, but is really lacking in the picture quality for indoor shots. What I like about the Panny is the build quality, good optics, button layout is well thought out and it shoots 1080p video, even underwater. Lumix DMCTS2A Andrew

Great looking pics there. I also love the pics of the bridge. My wife's uncle is the electrical contractor that set that up. You would not believe the red tape, headaches & expense that he had to go throught to get that done. Andrew

I thought this might be timely given many people around here are thinking steelhead this time of year. http://org2.democracyinaction.org/o/5875/p...action_KEY=1444 Time for Permanent Safeguards for British Columbia's Sacred Headwaters It's been one year since the BC government placed a moratorium on Shell's coalbed methane drilling in northern BC's Sacred Headwaters. Community opposition to Shell's project remains high. People in the Northwest and around the world want permanent safeguards for the shared birthplace of the Skeena, Nass and Stikine Rivers. Please take a moment to send the letter below to Royal Dutch Shell and BC's Minister of Energy, Mines and Petroleum Resources. Andrew
