3 New Humblefisherman Movies

awesome stuff Jay, been waiting a while for these, thanks for brightening my day. Keep them coming this winter!! -
That was not my intent and im sorry you perceive me that way. I have no trouble or guilt as you seem to be implying in angling for fish during their spawn. I was simply asking Flyfishen if he/she thought or knew if the fish he/she caught had already spawned. I have come across browns in December still in spawning shape, it just seemed a bit early to be finished already, so id thought id ask. Next time ill add some of these ??? to help people understand it was a question not a statement. Thanks for your post.

Rather skinny looking fish but a good one none the less. Wondering if that fish already finished spawning or not. Good way to spend those sleepless nights anyway eh, and still above zero over night up there huh.
-
Nice grayling, did you get that out of quarry in Canmore?
-
Looks like them browns are starting to put on some weight and colour for the spawn. Nice Bow River Brown!!!
-
Do fish do steroids like like major leage baseball players, cus i dont see how some of those unless they are genetic mutations can grow that big. Good fish guys. Cheers.

WOW what a bute, looks like the old bitch creek slays another. That better be from the bow? unless im missing out somewhere. LOL
-
Just keep your eyes out for the people that are trying to foul them though and call this number 1-877-952-7277. Have a nice trip.

Right at your campground like along that shore id say your waisting your time, but walk to eather the inflow right below the upper lake, to the creek that flows in at the far end of your campground or to the dam at the far end of the lake by the boat launch and you should get some fish. Eather that or just head to the upper lake and you should have no trouble catching the cutts in there right now. Some other places to try near you with a bit of a hike like 5km are lillian, galatea and rawson all have some nice cutts. Have a nice trip. Cheers.

Cool shots, thanks for sharing.

Some decent fish in there nice pics. At least the hike was worthwhile this time. LOL

Looks like you took our advice and fished the Livingstone, good on ya. Well enjoy the rest of your trip, hope the weather holds out, did you get any smoke down there?

I 100% agree people are the problem and hopefully the solution.

I wasnt fishing at Southland i gave up on that area long ago. This was just some random dog lady walking the river.

What they said given the situation was obviously uncalled for. Good for you for not letting what he said get to you . That said dog owners are anglers and everyday people and there tend to be jerks among us, the dogs are just following the bad actions of their owners. Dog owners seem to feel entitled to be able to throw the ball anywhere they want obliviously. Here is my encounter, I was nymphing a riffle right above a pool on the bow one day when a lady and a dog come strolling down to my riffle she stops about 20 feet above me and tosses the ball way out into the fast current, the dog like all dogs do runs out to retreave it . Im about to yell hey what are u doing , but i didnt know what the outcome would be yet cuse im used to this happening. Well what do u think happens? The dog swims out but cant reach the ball in time and gives up swims to shore (another tennis ball in the river), but not before he notices my thingamobobber grabs that and becomes entangled. Owner does nothing as the dog slowly peels out line from my reel, alarmed at being in my backing aready i run downriver and save her pooch. Waking back up to the lady holding her dog by the collar i tell her about showing some respect to all river users and watching where she throws the ball ect. She tells me she didnt expect her dog not to be able to get the ball and goes on about how she thinks its my fault her dog got caught ect. Im like no :$*%&: way i was fishing hear all morning, then about to throw her in the river i start to roll up my sleaves she gets the idea and buggers off with her dog but not before she tells me to watch where i fish because she come here often. Thats it no appology, no sorry and i end up having my fishing day ruined because of her attitude and her ignorance. I tried to forgive her in my heart for being that way, at least my reel didnt break and her dog was fine. Sorry for the long story and the hijack :Hi jack: peace.

Your Largest Bow River Trout/char

I have never heard of this happening but today on the bow river in the NW i was shocked to rell in this little brookie. I have also caught a few weeks back a rather large lake trout below the Bearspaw dam. Has anyone any info of how common this is? or where they came from? Thanks. -
Im more a stream fisherman, so i say stocking them in secluded lakes like they did with the arctic grayling down here is worth a try, so long as they dont contaminate our streams. Not sure if id fish for them, and id rather they spend the money on cleaning up more rivers and streams, but the more diverse the angling oppertunites the better enjoyment for all! Also id rather they didnt rase taxes oops i mean license fees as im already a poor student with an overly addicting hobby. cheers my 2 cents.

Looking good Jay, would love to call a rod like that my own. How much do they retail for just out of curiousity. Do they come with a garentee of catching fish? Cheers.
-
Doesnt sound like a caddis, but i just wanted to say i saw some on the river yesterday hatching and the fish seems to like the change, gulp!gulp!yum. Ya the flies you saw were prob some March browns they hatch May 1-June 5 according to my sources. Cheers.

On another note. Whats every ones smallest trout caught out of the bow. This little guy was caught on a caddis in Aug last year. Took on the first drift, looked larger when it rose right next to shore above me. LOL What do you think 4 inches -

Hope this works, This is a pic of not my biggest but a 24"(taped)brown caught during a heavy caddis hatch at about 11pm one late July night, was very memorable. -
Thats some sick work man. Do you have any others? Do you sell?

Thats a sore blow, sorry to hear about your loss. I know i would be devistated at the loss of any of my gear. Someone attemted to break into my car while i was fishing this summer the whole lock area was busted open and scratch up, but somehow managed to remain locked. Good thing too because i had my camera and my spare rod just laying on my back seat in plain view. Had a club on the wheel so it is not likely they were after the car. Learned a good leason after that and it costed almost $200 to get the lock fixed. In todays age there are bad people out there lurking, even in a parking lot full of fellow fisherman and dog walkers.
