  1. I have no problem paying a premium to fish quality waters. So long as they could guarantee the money would go back to the resource, I wish they'd do the same thing here in AB.
  2. Any updates on this one? Now that I got a truck... need to get some fly fishing stickers on 'er!
  3. www.google.ca Make sure you wait ~15-30 seconds at least.. and make sure your speakers are on. And don't forget.. your computer has arrow keys.
  4. Same for me, except replace A3 with A2. Awesome rod!
  5. I'd buy the 2010 4Runner Trail Edition (in black) any day before an FJ, those things are SWEET!! And very capable off road machines. JMO. Not sure about the price point though..
  6. One box of nymphs, one box of dries, one box of streamers. Probably 3 dozen total.. I try to KISS.
  7. Who needs a net when the fish jumps into the boat?! heh heh Sweet brownie too!
  8. heh heh.. You must've mistook the huffing and puffing sounds of me climbing up that hill at the end of the night.. I was thinking they were going to taser the dude while he was in the water or something!
  9. Pic #2 - Rod looks like it's about to break! Pic #3 - Dude looks like he's about to break!

I talked to that dude in the second last picture in the parking lot at Policeman's a few weeks back..
  11. I've been a cranky old man since I turned 20 Taco! heh heh
  12. Have some of you not read between the lines and figured out that a few of the people that have posted may have physical limitations that do not allow them to make that hike at all? Some are, yes, but not everyone is being lazy.
  13. Just got off the phone with them and can confirm that they can rent trucks specifically for towing. Pretty close to what you said Current.. $79/day including 100 free km's. 18 cents/additional km. One time towing fee is $39. And then $25.95/day for insurance. $1000 deductible if there's an accident. That's probably fair pricing, but it quite a bit more than I had anticipated. Was wanting to go out for a couple long weekend camping trips this summer. I could probably buy an old beater truck for the same price as renting a couple times. Decisions, decisions..
  14. Yeah.. didn't sound right to me when I heard it. I'm sure I've seen rentals with hitches before.. especially the SUV's like you mentioned Pipestone. We just have a small 16' travel trailer.
  15. May I suggest some PM's here?
  16. http://www.icefieldheli.com/fishing/index.htm Prices at the bottom..
  17. Due to some unforseen circumstances last year we ended up having to sell our tow vehicle for our travel trailer. I was thinking I'd try and borrow friends or family trucks in the meantime for our few camping trips during the summer. But then I was reading on rv.net and some guys mentioned just renting a truck for the weekend and using it to tow. Great idea! I thought.. However, just the other day a friend told my wife that they tried to do this exact thing and were unable to find a place that rented trucks that had hitches installed. After getting turned down a number of times, someone finally told them (not sure who) that it was illegal? in Alberta to rent a truck with a hitch. I'm assuming that if this is the case, that it must have to do with liability issues or something.. with the amount of yahoos that are on the roads these days. Does anyone have any insight on this? Can you confirm or deny that this is the case?
  18. Couple things.. What the heck was Calgary thinking when they let Cammalleri go?! And is there a more frustrating player to watch than Malkin? The guy is brilliant sometimes.. and other times I'm sure a 10 year old girl would be stronger on the puck...
  19. Yeah.. you might want to put some sort of warning in your title for those of us who occasionally check the boards from WORK.. Funny though.
  20. Awesome!! As I was reading I thought "this sounds really familiar".. I know the feeling of pulling that hard and thinking you're caught on a log or something, only to have it take off again. Mine was a bully as well.. except it was ONLY ~29". Well done, sir.
  21. I love Wild Rose Brewery, and a friend of mine is their Brewmaster. You don't like ANY of their beers? I find that surprising!
  22. I gotta say.. this makes me feel a bit nervous/guilty about that 29" bully I caught last year. I wasn't targeting bull trout, but fortunately still had my 6 weight (I usually fish me 3 on this river). But it still took me ~10-15 minutes to land that big girl. I made sure to take her into some nice cold flowing water to revive her, but she sat in my hands for what seemed like a good 5 minutes before she finally swam off. I hope she made it!! Does anyone know if the above referenced studies would be similar for bull trout/char?
  23. You know what picture I'd like to see again? That one of the huge brownie Troutslayers? wife got on here first ever float trip. That thing was gorgeous!
