  1. It is not a law to wear orange that simple. I have been hunting for many many years and a born Alberta boy. I have had one bad call by another hunter firing in my direction and this was in the days that you had to wear orange. It only comes down to one simpl,e thing. IDENTIFY YOUR TARGET!!!! Oh and bigtoad this does not mean with your scope even if you are certain your target is what you think it is. Binoc's are carried for a reason. USE THEM!! I agree there are idiots out there and I have seen my fare share of them. But damn man if it your time well I guess its your time. I do not and will not wear orange if I am not required to. I probably have a better chance winning the lottery then getting shot in the bush, and god knows that that will not happend in my life. End point being, be responsable and Identify your shot with binoculars. dont let the rush of the kill or shot cloud your judgement. If you are still not sure at any point do not take the shot!! So what if the world record got away, its better than a life in jail. JUST MY THOUGHTS!!
  2. if you are all looking to find these beers, you should try zyn.ca in inglewood. they have the largest selection in the province with over 600 beers avaliable. check it out.
  3. Please find information below on what should be a great event for a great cause. Please send me a PM if you are interested and only those of 18yrs or older may attend. Date and time: Friday, November 26th, 2010; 5:30 to 9 pm Location: Zyn The Wine Market; 1543 - 17 Avenue SE, Calgary, AB T2G 1J9 Ticket: $20 per person; tickets can be purchased at the door Reason: Fund raiser for Martin Holloway Details Premer Friday!!! Come down to Zyn and join us discover the world of Beer. We will have 65 to 85 different beer open for your tasting pleasure. We will be trying Craft Brews from Canada, United States, Belgium, United Kingdom and many others. Background on Martin Imagine yourself living in beautiful Pemberton, BC, the perfect place to enjoy your outdoor passions which are paragliding, back-country skiing, mountain biking and climbing. You have a job that you love as park ranger, you are energetic and in great physical shape, basically life is pretty damn good. The next day, you go to the doctor to check out a pain in your side and your life changes forever. The doctors tell you that you have cancer and are given a diagnosis of Stage IV Renal Cell Carcinoma (RCC). They tell you that the rest of your life is to be counted in months rather than years. This was the news that confronted our good friend, Martin Holloway, earlier this year and his life was changed dramatically. Over this time Martin has heroically confronted adversity and has not allowed his illness to take away his enthusiasm and passion for the things he loves. He has chosen to see his illness as an opportunity to journey inward and has developed an appreciation for the gift of life and for living from moment to moment. However anyone facing a battle against cancer is also faced with financial realities that cannot be ignored. This is where the beer tasting fundraiser comes in. 100% of the funds raised from this event will be provided directly to Martin for a number of items that have been critical to his treatment including: therapeutic treatments such as acupuncture and massage nutrition including organic foods and prepared meals financing trips to visit family and friends We certainly hope that you and your friends can attend this event.
  4. Nice work boys, had the chance to goin you last night but was unable. sucks for me!!
  5. Hey 420, I agree with going BC on there ass, But this does apply in Ab as well but unfortunatly only on the Hunting side of things. I am an advid hunter as well and if you are caught poaching big game they can take your guns, cars, hunting and fishing privladges. So my question is why only when poaching big game do these serious actions take place? Deer, Moose, Elk, Brown, Bow or cut, they are all the same to me!!!!
  6. I use Olympus (Stylus 550wp) and would not use anything else for the price. Definatly overdelivers for the price. Got mine with areo plan miles!!!
  7. I also agree with fining as heavy as possible but there are some out there that 3 grand is pennies in thier pocket, so lets not just fine thembut maybe also take away thier fishing priviledges for not just a limited time but maybe a few years or so. money is one thing but taking away the access to thier rods for an extended period of time may be the bigger fine in the end. Just my thoughts!!!!

  9. I just delt with G loomis this year as well. Although my rod would probably have been under warrenty I desided to go through the expider (sorry for spelling) program instead. They ship you the new rod or equivilant modle and as soon as you recieve the rod you return yours within 30 days. This insured me my rod ASAP and I did not have to pay for Shipping both ways. Just on the return, and I only had to ship the handle bacvk with the model #. So shipping was cheaper to send back because I just cut the handle off and shipped that. The cost with this program is $75.00 and there is no questions asked on how the rod was damages. I have another G loomis to do this with, They are both 6 wts getting replaced and have no need for 2, 6 wts. So I got a 6wt the first time and on my next return on my other 6 wt that is broken they are willing to send me a 3wht instead for that is one I am missing in my lineup. All in all the experiance was awesome and fast, had my new rod 6 days after my phone call.
