I set on every good hit. I don't mend at all when I fish streamers rather my loop is ahead of the fly. 90% of my hits are when the line tensions up. Then again I miss the same amount.

Just like everything else in life. If you buy cheaper stuff you get crappy performance. I'm not saying its the poorist quality but "you get what you pay for" is what i'm trying to say. I bought a teton reel and its garbage. Never again i say. Hopefully Islander will come out with a multi-fly reel soon.

I have an orvis rod that is 10 years old and the only problem i've had with it is Max stepped on it and broke it. They replaced it. Very nice rods.
