  1. Well, finally landed my first brown, taped in at 20", lovin' it. Beautiful evening, good company, good fishing - beats the heck out of work any day!!
  2. Can't see why that wouldn't work... if you need to quickly cool it, a can of compressed air (computer cleaner) held upside down will freeze anything quickly. sticky rubber gloves with a twisting motion should separate it.
  3. Cripes, is that the same fish? looks bigger in the last shot
  4. Bring on the fish porn!!! Gotta love it
  5. The fun is in the trying... they're liking the stone flies
  6. then lost it. Fought it for a few minutes, then figured I could muscle him to shore - figure again LOL. Seen him at the surface, nice fish. Then I caught this sucker... My hands aren't the size of meathooks but I thought for sure he was going to break me off... Had a few more hookups but couldn't seem to keep them on.
  7. Yep, those fish are gonna get expensive ;0)
  8. They calls me "falls in river" for a reason copper lol. You both warned me and I still went up to my neck in that hole LOL
  9. I'm amazed you found them, guess the other one was too shy to come out eh?
  10. I don't know if the rules have been changed or not but... unfortunately, they are making your girlfriend your business... Legally, they can underwrite everyone in your household that has a drivers license. Scary thought when you have a 16 year old licensed driver or a room mate with a pile of accidents/tickets under your belt. And yep, your insurance rates will be rated accordingly cause they have access to your car. If your girlfriend has a bad driving record, you're going to pay the price for it. Can you legally not tell them? don't know.
  11. Thanks for the info... I stand corrected, he's got 3 young fellers to take fishing. May be heading out with him this weekend to give him a hand corralling them all, see if we can get them into a fish or two.
  12. http://calgary.kijiji.ca/c-buy-and-sell-bu...QAdIdZ286012114 From the address, it looks like Reids Auctions...
  13. Good word for it. It's days like these that I miss some of Edmonton's potholes for pike. Devils lake was so much fun in the tube it should have been illegal.
  14. Great catch, thanks... Warehouse sale is on, have to take a look tomorrow. http://www.springbrook.ca/
  15. Thanks for the info... This is going to sound really bad but can you point these places out on a google map? They don't show.
  16. Finally got out there with the tube this weekend, didn't bother with the chuck and duck. Took the spincast. The pike in that lake have to be the smelliest i've ever caught, was going to snap a pic of a 4 or 5 pounder I caught but it stunk too bad. Couldn't wait to get it off the tube. Caught a dozen this weekend, all the same. yuck. Some nice to get the tube out again tho
  17. My neoprene waders finally gave up the ghost, started leaking when I was in the tube today and people got a laugh cause it looked like I peed myself. Only paid 80 bucks for these at army and navy and got 6 good years out of them. I don't want neoprenes again, great for spring but too bloody warm in summer. What are you using and how do you find them? I'm not looking to break the bank but I need a set of wading boots too. Thanks.
  18. One of my coworkers is trying to get his young fellow into a trout or two, he's been trying the bow and that's tough for a kid at the best of times... Any stockers around the city where he can go?? Thanks.
  19. I had it offered due to a misdiagnosis but never had it done - never needed it. Age doesn't seem to be a factor with replacements at all. I know a woman in Edmonton that had both of her hips replaced last year at age 76 (total replacements), the recovery took a little longer of course due to her age but all is good. She's up and dancing now, nothing slows her down. I know a few more that had it done, they never regretted it. Just follow doctors orders and good luck
  20. never heard of coffee grounds but you can soak the nest with soapy water. kills off alot, the rest should leave.
  21. lemon juice or some vinegar mixed with water - seems to work on anything that smells fishy

    Dirty Broon

I swear that these fish have been caught enough times that they learn to smile for the camera after a while Nice fish!!
  23. Itching to do some chuck and duck for pike but i'm reading the chestermere boat launch bylaw and i'm not sure if I would need to register to launch the tube in the lake. Anyone fish there from a tube and know if one needs to register? Tubes don't seem to be covered in the bylaw.
  24. I was one of those that questioned a bow today, was pretty sure but not positive - and the only reason is that they have washed out coloring in them. I'm catch and release on anything salmonid, couldn't care less if I ever eat another trout or salmon. But you're right, many are misidentifying.
