Awesome fish, Beedhead! I love the variety. We are so lucky to catch these fish!

Hilarious. ROFL. The "firework" at the end is my favorite.

It surely seems you had an awesome May... It is great to see so many beautiful trout. Have an even better June!

I bought mine couple of months ago and noticed during the last two outings that my fishing licence is wet. As I managed to unfold and dry it, there was no harm done. My phone managed to survive these events and now I am more careful what to put there (quite useless). Maybe I could keep fish in this pocket... Otherwise, I am really happy about the wader, as it fits me well and seem to be durable (time will tell).

Newly Unemployed - Looking For Work
Bandi replied to birchy's topic in General Chat - Not Fishing Related (NFR)
Sorry to hear Birchy. Eventhough, IT job market is shrinking and moving towards offshore, I think you are in the right segment of IT (considering the effect of depression). Desktop support, maintenance, and AM jobs are still there, because business critical applications and networks are still needed to be run (vs almost complete stop of investment and thus IT development projects.) Indeed, it was interesting to read all the opinions regarding the IT job market, so just keep them coming. Good luck, Birchy. -
That is what I tried to find on the internet, but no luck (I will go to the shop and ask them too).

I am trying to figure out what line to buy for my Vision double hand rod. I should be able to find the weight of shooting head recommended for this rod, but I could not. If I buy a Loop Custom shooting head (floating, #11), what length or weight should I cut it back (or start from cutting). I am complete greenhorn with spey rods, so I am also looking for good ideas to make this start period easy. I plan to use this rod on a river which is similar to The Bow, though it might have stronger currents and much more big rocks. I believe occasionally I might need to do some long casting, but most of the time medium length should be sufficient (the water is bit more colored than The Bow). What running line do you recommend to use with shooting heads (and why)? Thanks in advance.

Have a great one, Teck. I hope you are fishing somewhere. -

Usa Guy Wants To Fish Canada, Fishing Licence?
Bandi replied to Fisherwoman's topic in General Chat - Fishing Related
Yes, WIN card is/was required, too. (When I fished the Bow.) He will not get the WIN card (took me couple of month to arrive to Europe ), but proof of purchase. He might get better deal buying an annual license (if he stays longer or plan to go back during the season). -
Thanks for the link, Jonny5. Check out the Beta site, as well.

I also vote for the first one! It is simply superb... has this old painting look, but with seemingly modern elements (like the backpack). Cool. Keep them coming.

Awesome fish! Coloring is great... wanna go fishing.

Perfect Despcription - Calgary Drivers
Bandi replied to SanJuanWorm's topic in General Chat - Not Fishing Related (NFR)
I was positively surprised when I visited Canada. As being mostly pedestrian or using public transportation, I found that drivers were pretty nice. I was surely shocked when I first time tried to cross the road (at a zebra-crossing) and cars stopped to let me go! I wish it was the same situation here . However, I am with you on the texting and using mobile phone while driving... It was just crazy!!! Sometimes the driver, was scrolling through songs on his/her MP3 player (there you go iPod:)) and trying to send SMS with the other hand while driving on the highway! I was scared to be the passenger. We made it. Is it due to time pressure, multitasking, growing ADD ? I do not know... -
Right, should have recognized that it is made with a tilt(shift) lens... I have never own one, but I certainly like the result. You're right! I love my dSLR, but it is too cumbersome to be always with me and slows me down. Nowadays, I balance between using a dSLR and a point-and-shoot.

What a kype! He must be the resident evil there.

Nice soft pics, Sirocco (Erik?). Do you postprocess them or shot with an SLR and shallow DoP? Have you got some more on a photosharing site? How about photos of fish?
-
25,5" is awesome... nice longish fish. Yes, you need to improve on holding a big fish like this. Take a look at a certain bow river ninja's photos... though do not imitate his facial expressions

Actually, what I know, you will find waters in middle Europe and in Scandinavia where what you caught you must take (no C&R)... these are privately managed waters and you often pay by the weight of fish (though often not trout waters). Thanks for the info that it is not a rule in Germany.

Perfect Despcription - Calgary Drivers
Bandi replied to SanJuanWorm's topic in General Chat - Not Fishing Related (NFR)
Hahaha... I do not remember seeing this. Awesome. Let's see if we remember this when next time in a traffic jam (just put your Stacy Adams Up on the Dash) . It would matter only if Montrealers\Quebecois abode by the rules. -
I got that you were joking with clipping the fins... However, here in Finland, when they plant trouts they cut the tip of adipose fin. This way fishermen can distinguish them from wild trout, which is protected and must be released. So you get intimate with every fish

Decided to add some more , all of these are C&Rs and handled with care: Brichy, should you opt for asking removal, let me know first Some more pics at my Fishing 2009 May album

Thanks Teck! Surely, I will contact you when I make back to Calgary... That river is awesome! I think I spent as much time taking photographs as fishing.
-
Thanks guys for replies. Yes, it is disturbing every time I get this reaction... for me it only means I post less photos here. However, I will not leave this forum that easily, as I find it GREAT! Loads of interesting topics, questions, and useful replies.

Did you mark fish to see how many times you get the same one? It is great to hear you get out fishing so frequently. Awesome pics. No need to be humble about your photography skills... I think the underexposed pic worked perfectly to bring out the sky and show fisherman's silhouette. Keep them coming.
