  5. hmmm well i got the stink off today one bow at 23 and another at maybe 16 or bit smaller, lost a cpl as usual got out with andy and he slammed a few in the 20 range....indie ninja then who comes flyin over the bank but max and his buddy mike ...i'm guessin his spidey senses were tingling and he zoomed in on the spot...anywho they are there about 20 mins worth of fishing and mike caught one around 21 and max lost a friggin pig and landed another as andy and i were leavin....awesome! very good day...it's even more rewarding when you fish these winter conditions and also on the plus side the days are gettin longer
  6. nice job there guys,i got three days in so far this year and even tho i am seeing fish i haven't had anything hit the hook
  7. cool
  8. har har har this thread started as steak in jeopardy so go figure
  9. landed one of those GPS Navigation thingys... gift cards, lots of useful odds and ends and a great holiday time spent with friends.
  10. ya I totally thought this streak business meant catching something....
  11. just be sure to roll (loosely)the pontoons rather than fold them, especially if it has the vinyl aircells which i think the fishcat does....if it has urethane aircells it's not so much an issue but either way being folded for long periods of time will cause creases to form and thus a possible weak or worn point.... this is best care scenerio....i'm sure you could fold them up and throw them in the corner of the garage or basement and never have issues....best storage method is inflated to shape but not to pressure mine is only an eight foot but i keep the pontoons comepletely empty of air and laid out flat....
  12. i'm kinda freakin out and it's only been 11 days....
  13. right on..thx for that, looks like you did very well for the first time out i'm thinking if i go out there i won't come back ...or my first trip will be a skunk due to lack of knowledge
  14. nice pics... that one of the fish 'sittin' on bottom is awesome....
  15. BC Steelhead....it's something that's within reach dreamin I'd have to say the Marlin family(not sure i'd be up for wiring one of these right off the bat) or any game fish that involves a #130 or even #80 class rod/reel and a fightin chair mounted on a sea goin sport fisher, tower the whole 9.... accomplishments i have fought one giant bluefin in the chair, lost him and caught a couple of the 1000lb range on stand up style rod holder.Lost a few fish too and even had a friend of mine lose his thumb on a bird nested spool, loop closed on his thumb and off it goes...off goes the fish too,300lb mono broke off like nothing,he was more upset over the fish breaking off check it out
  16. right on...nice addition don't tell toolman you bought a single hander,he's makin some kinda list
  17. 'I'll see what i can scare up.' someone say free tackle? steel headin trip would kick ass at first i couldn't for the life of me figure out what '9 mo' was...i guess now there's only '5 mo'
  18. it would be a great way to put emergers 'up' in the water.....and the weight would slow the drift also you could almost get away with not using an indie....kinda high stick a tight line
  19. right on Max and Headscan,thx.... speaking of loops has anyone ever heard of using larva lace to make loops, secured with a drop of glue i had a guy tell me about this and to be honest he's never streered me wrong but i haven't had a chance to try it he told me that loop to loop he couldn't pull them apart
  20. i have the same problem with the typical leader not turning over....think i will try one of these polyleader set-ups
  21. 1264 TFO Pro Reddington CDL 9/10 i have a kinda skagit/scandi line that bhurt threw in with the rod i bought of him,i guess best description i can figure is it's scandi by length(34' chopped for the rod) and skagit by thickness,no idea what logo it or the running line is phil rowly quick release indie, since for the most part it's so far away i use x-large so i can see the damn thing,i like the quick relese so i can reel my leader into the eyes 6'-9' leader 3 bugs at about 18" apart with one or two split shot 6" above top fly mostly snake roll or circle c depending on side of the river the spey rod has been great even just a modest 50' (give/take) cast is done w/o effort (34+12'6+9) and i have been working on shooting a cpl rod lengths i think all i need for this set-up is a sink tip for streamers i find mending and being an indie ninja is tougher with the heavier line used on the spey, that's prbly more me though but i am still partial to my single hander....i want to put time into technique/lines with it next summer and for 'toon fishing it will be the rod ...i'm thinking opti stream and overlined by one weight....been picking brains and chatted a few times w. Maxwell about this kinda stuff,he puts a lot of gear through it's paces i truly love fishing dries as far as controversy goes but it comes down to fishing...and if it's nymph rigs, streamers or dries i'm there....
  22. sorry but that image made me LOL!! would be kinda (very) funny to witness ....in a sick way hope your arm heals up for your trip Lynn
