  1. What would I do? I'd go with my gut and what I like. If you have a particular aversion to Hondas.....er....I mean Sage, then go with what you like. I have a TFO as my first rod and I love it. What I like most is that I was able to get the same warranty as the Cadillac of Fly Rods, for a fraction of the price. Hell, I'm contemplating getting a second so that I have a spare rod to bring for my freinds who don't fly fish. But, I'd hire a good lawyer first as my wife would leave me if I spent another $700 on fishing gear.......
  2. I was lucky enough to get out to the Bow again this morning, down in the Burnsmead area. (Sunked again, but that's another story) And as I await my waders to come, I am still wet wading. Ever notice that even as you sit, 5-6 hours later, that your feet still feel like they are in your wet wading boots mid shin deep in water. I love that feeling
  3. Hey, sounds like a plan! I can catch nothing with the best of them!
  4. Thanks, I will try to keep that in mind next time!
  5. I was down at the Bow again today. 22X, same as always, not sure why I keep going there, but meh, whatever. Anyway, on a day like today, where it's not as hot, cloudy and a chance of rain, what's the best technique? I tried swinging a bead head, then I tried nymphing, and then swung a streamer. Nothing. I actually saw what was either a brook trout, or a really small rainbow or brown leap clear out of the water (must not have been much more than 6 or 7 inches long), but other than that, I had NO luck at all. When I finally packed it in, I was walking the bank back to the car and saw a nice 15-16" trout dart off away from the bank. So I KNOW there are fish there, I just can't catch em'!
  6. Nice. There are a few things I could use.....net....waders....sweet.
  7. What kind of deals do they have?
  8. Last two phones that I have had, I have had zero problems with. My last one was an LG6010, likely can't get it anymore as it is a few years old. Now I have a Samsung slider and I absolutely love it. I haven't had any problems with it (knock on wood) so far as battery, bluetooth, camera, or anything. Love it. Highly recommend it. Samsung a806 or something like that. Can't remember.
  9. I concur, that would be a blast! Elbow Springs (the community, not the course) also has a man-made lake. I do believe that there are fish in it. What kind I do not know, but I believe that they allow fishing in it, however I am fairly sure you need to live there, to fish it.
  10. What a view! Elbow Springs Golf course here in town also has a couple of ponds stocked with Rainbows. Never asked about rods though......
  11. Buddy in the video needs to clean his fingernails.
  12. Good one....lol Here's another.... Dear Abby, I've been suspecting for some time now that my wife has been cheating on me. There are the usual signs; phone calls that hang up when I answer, evenings out with "the girls" and when I ask who they are she just says, "Some girls from work, you wouldn't know them.". I've tried staying up late to watch when she comes home, but I usually end up falling asleep on the couch before she turns up and miss her. The other night, I decided to hide in the garage and get a good view as she pulls into the drive way. I have a real good spot in the corner where I keep my fishing gear. Late that night, I hunkered down behind my gear, getting a great view of the driveway as she gets dropped of by "the girls". While I was hiding, I had some time to look around and noticed that I had a hairline fracture in the blank of my new fly rod. She never did show up before I fell asleep again and missed another opportunity. So here's my question, can I fix that myself, or should I take it back to the shop that I bought it from? Sincerely, Hooked.
  13. Dude, you have some sick vids! Nice work if you can get it!
  14. All I was trying to say is if Civic A had a club and Civic B didn't. I'd go with Civic B. Hell, even if Civic A did have a club, and rusted out 84 Pontiac POS didn't, I'd still go with the rusted out POS. If it's easier to steal for a joy ride, then why not. But if neither had a Club, then Civic all the way.
  15. I would tend to agree with that. The whole "path of least resistance" kind of thing.
  16. That's an easy fix. Get your brother to buy you a new computer! In all seriousness, I honestly have no idea. Have your brother buy you a new one then take it to someone who knows what they are doing and have them switch everything over for you.
  17. Not yet, but I am certain that my next pair will be the Oakley FIVES as my Canadian Tire cheapies aren't quite the same.....
  18. Dude, that is some crappy ass luck man. Welcome to Calgary indeed.....
  19. Was actually out this morning on the Bow at 22X. Got skunked, again, but still had a blast. I have yet to invest in waders, and am considering a vest or a pack of some kind to make things easier, and likely less hot than my fleece vest I've been wearing. Not too worried about waders at this point as the water is quite lovely this time of year. I may not even think about those until fall, or even next spring. Not overly worried about catching fish at this point. Just practising my casting for the most part, and technique. Trying not to get too many knots in my leaders.....lol Just goin' out there and having some fun.
  20. Be happy to. My schedule is kinda messed up, so we'd have to see what would work. Let me know man.
  21. Haven't had anything but good experiences there. great shop from what i can tell.
  22. Really nice pics! I wish that I could take underwater shots like that. But if I tired, I'd ruin the camera that my wife got me for Christmas, and then I'd be dead. Or single.....or both.
  23. Nice man! Sounds like you had a great morning!
  24. They were. Thankfully I was able to get the reel fixed. Evidently the backing was wound on so tight that it was bowing the spool so that it was rubbing on the reel body like a disc brake. They re-wound it with some new backing at no-charge. Pretty good service.
