  1. Wow, I got nothin on you guys. I had a broken collar bone from a mountain bike wipeout. Didn't know what happened as I rotated my shoulder thinking it was dislocated. Twenty seconds later, I couldn't move it. Made riding out of the ravine difficult. Then just before I moved to Calgary, I herniated a disc in my lower back that caused sciatica. A wonderful burning sensation that radiates down your leg. Pain is 24/7 and I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. Had the disc operated on to fix it. Still get lower back spasms and leg pain every now and again. Pain in the ass. Literally. Nothing compared to some of the stories on here though.
  2. Two guys walk into a bar.......you'd figure the second guy woulda seen it.
  3. So, my wife comes home from work toady and she asks me to take off her blouse. Then, she asks me to take of her skirt. Then she asked me not to wear her clothes anymore.
  4. I hope you're right Lynn. Would love to see the Oilers kill them with Chicklets in the line up!
  5. Awesome Tourney, Awesome Game! Makes you proud to be a Canadian watching the way those kids conduct themselves both on and off the ice. I look forward to this tournament every year. With my relatives living in Regina, and my brother in law being a real hockey nut, I look forward to the possibility of attending a game next year!
  6. Happy Birthday dude.
  7. Yep, great game! What a play by Eberle to tie it up. Man, those kids are gooooooooooood.
  8. I found these guys the other day and watched a few of their videos on fly casting and fly fishing. Pretty good instruction on a variety of topics. http://www.youtube.com/user/tightlinesflyshop
  9. Know what's gay? This thread dying is gay. In fact, you're all gay for letting it get this way.
  10. uhhh.....when is it?
  11. My main goals are to learn more about everything! Learn more about the entomology and matching the hatch, look under rocks more, find out what the fish are eating. Plus, get out of town. I fished the Bow primarily, but I need to try some of the other fantastic waters we have around here. I had a great time out at the Oldman, I want to fish the Highwood, the Livingstone, Quirk Creek, and numerous other places where I can find trout. Learn and explore, that's what I want to do this year. Going with someone to teach me would be great too.
  12. Well, since this was my first year, or part year, of fly fishing, I would have to say that the biggest highlight of my 2008 was taking the time to learn how to fly fish. Caught my first trout on the fly, my first dry fly, my first cutthroat, first at everything! I love this sport and I certainly can't wait for the 2009 season to start so that I can enjoy my first FULL season of fly fishing. So much more to learn, so many more places to explore. I can't wait!
  13. As you know birchy, I love my Amundson. I have the TXS 5/6/7 and love it. Wicked drag, smooth, silent retrieve and looks great.
  14. COOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL
  15. I got 13. But I only missed two or three times. I think the most you could get would be 15 or 16.
  16. Almost looks like someone took an axe to your bumper? Who'd you piss off?
  17. I'm almost at that same point myself snake. I want to see them win, but winning will keep MacT behind the bench, which isn't what I want. They had one good run to the cup final where they, in my opinion, over acheived, but have under acheived to a larger extent this season. Carolina fired thier coach with a similar record and reason, the Raptors fired thier coach when they had high expectations and weren't living up to them (not that they have done better with the replacement) so what the hell is wrong with the Oilers management? I hate the old boys mentality on this hockey team.
  18. Probably the worst game they've played to date. What a mess. A lot of those goals were odd bounces that landed on a Chicago players stick which then found its way into the back of the net. Not a pretty picture. Hopefully they will be able to bounce back tonight.
  19. That's insane. Sold his life's work for $22 mill? Nice work if you can get it.....
  20. This is why I sell Honda.
  21. Thanks Doc! Happy Holidays to you as well.
  22. Wow. Some great stories and some great replys. Though, I'm not as eloquent as the majority of you, I only took up fly fishing this year. I used to spin cast when I was kid with the old man. Used to go to Cross Lake every May long weekend, until it was fished out and turned into a slough. Fish were diseased and not worth catching anymore. When I was a kid, you could walk along the dock, and see the fish swimming around the piers. By the time I was a teenager, it was a mess. Sad really, some of my best vacations were at that lake. When I moved to Calgary, one of the first things I wanted to do was learn how to fly fish. Even before I moved here I had heard of how legendary the Bow was for fly fishing. I never knew where to go to learn. Didn't know where the fly shops were. Thankfully, my wife did do the research and signed me up for casting lessons through Country Pleasures. Great couple of guys. Learned LOTS, casted a few rods and litterally fell in love with it that day. I think my wife regrets it. lol Now, I look forward to every moment I can get on the water. Weather it be a crisp fall morning, or a beautiful summer evening. The sound of the water, the smell of the air and the anticipation of that next big one. Watching the fish rise to your flly, taking it and then the fight. I love everything about fly fishing so far and can't wait to enjoy my first FULL season in the spring.
  23. I felt exactly the same way when they played the Oil. Out shot, out chanced, but still ended up 2-0.
