  1. Other countries have been doing stuff like that for years. Why the big hubub now?
  2. I agree 100% Pretty much how I feel about it too. I'm in it to learn, more than anything.
  3. And, yes, I am prepared to finish dead last. I just want to meet some new people and find some new places to fish on the Bow.
  4. Sounds cool. I'm in if the wife lets me out one night a week to fish......
  5. I think, I HOPE, that it will be one of the BEST Super Bowls in recent memory. The two best offenses in the league going head to head. Will be a good one to watch to be certain.
  6. It appears that our oven crapped out, so we need to replace it, and if we are going to do that, I want to replace it with a gas range. So, I need to have a gas line run into our kitchen. Should be a fairly easy job. Basement is only half developed, and we have an existing line run in the basement that was for an old gas dryer that the previous owners had. Just so happens its directly below where the oven sits. Anyone here know of a gas fitter that can handle a quick job for not a lot of cash? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks guys n' gals.
  7. I'm sorry that I missed it. Stupid working on Saturdays......
  8. AWESOME! You are my hero birchy!
  9. Definitely going to be picking up a couple of those!
  10. LOL Priceless! And what a cutie too! How could you get upset at a face like that?? lol I also had the same kind of thing happen to me once when I put my daughter to bed. Just replace vasoline with poo.......
  11. I like my Cortland 444 Classic SL on my 5wt and love the Rio Gold on my 3wt. I am thinking I may go with one of those on my new Launch 6wt. Still shopping though.
  12. Does this mean that Manny, Sid and Deigo are going to make an appearance?
  13. I have the Rio Gold on my 3wt and love it.
  14. I never really thought too much about it. When I was learning to Fly Fish, they said to have it just tight enough so that it doesn't free spool when you pull line off. Like some of you, I do tend to adjust it during the fight. If it's running too easy, I tighten it up. I also find that when I have my rod under my arm, the drag gets loosened from flopping around under my arm that I have to re-adjust when I am done tying my flies on.
  15. I tried the TFO Special Delivery Line. I got it for free (plus $10 shipping or something) when I purchased my 8'6" 5wt last year. Really didn't like it at all. My Cortland 444-sl was WAY nicer to cast, floated better and was easier to shoot line with. Used the Special Delivery for a total of two days on the river.
  16. Well, you learn something new everyday......
  17. This is exactly the kind of information I was looking for! Thanks a bunch guys! I have the Cortland 444 Classic on my 8'6" 5wt and love how it feels. It's not the peach, its green, but have heard really good things about the peach. What is it that makes the peach better? Is it just a different colour or what? Jay, thanks for the idea. I just may do that.
  18. Awesome shots! I particularly liked the one in B&W of the sunken ship. Must not have been as warm as it looked judging by the winter gear you're wearing.....
  19. I actually saw the lines that they have on sale at Fish Tales there too. I'm looking for a line for my new Launch 6wt 9' that I got for Christmas. Was thinking about the Cortland Precision Trout Specific for it, or the Rio Grand, but I saw a nymph taper in the bucket in a 6wt and was very tempted. I know lots of guys have this same rod, was wondering what most of you use for it. Going to be my nymph/streamer rod for the Bow, in case you guys want to know what I plan on using it for.
  20. Nice Birchy! I hope the first fish you catch on that beauty is an absolute HOG.
  21. Awesome vid as usual Jay. Thanks for posting. And please, keep them coming! I need vids like these to remember the "good old days" of summer and warm days long past.....
  22. I'll be going for sure. Likely on Sunday as I work Saturdays. Thinking about signing up for one of the workshops too. I'll be sure to stop and say Hi to some of you guys I haven't met yet.
