  1. Cortland 444 Peach. Tried others but keep going back to it. I haven't tried a Sharkskin, but hear mostly good things - damned expensive though. Regards Mike
  2. Don't worry Sun, when Fox News new Commentator- Sarah Palin, starts presenting facts that man walked with Dinosaurs, you will have all the data you crave. Regards Mike
  3. Sun, you are really scraping the bottom of the barrel quoting " Faux" News as credible. As usual they cherry-picked the info to suit their own agenda. http://mediamatters.org/research/201001120022. Regards Mike
  4. Nice post Smitty, but I think it was Global Warming that softened the ice and thru Canada off its game. Regards Mike
  5. Wit, Sarcasm, Irony. Are they allowed on the Internet? I guess not. Regards Mike
  6. I'm sure that the scent is detectable by fish, but as an ex-smoker, I can't say definitively if it made any difference. Now Anise... Regards Mike
  7. Sooo, like do you have to buy around for the House? Congrats. Regards Mike
  8. Welcome. Feel free to join the global warming thread, it's sort of a rite of passage Regards Mike
  9. Actually PGK, I think any area can be "unparked" given the right set of circumstances and Govt- ANWR comes immediately to mind so nothing is truly safe. While NP's may provide some degree of protection, I think only a plan such a Y2Y protects a large enough area to be a true refugia if I am understanding that term correctly. I agree with you about stocking a pothole lake with non natives is different than stocking flowing waters, but what about introducing fish to flowing waters that had no resident fish( Stauffer, Ram etc)? Should we allow only natives or should we be more flexible-I'm kinda torn on this one Regards Mike
  10. I will leave the affiliations question to we all know who. BUT Isn't a Geologist commenting on climate akin to a Climatologist commenting on Plate Tectonics, both fields being relatively young. This is NOT meant as a personal attack or questioning your professionalism or knowledge and is meant to to taken in a lighthearted manner. Regards Mike
  11. I think the area that "is broke " is outside the NP's along the Eastern Slopes. The Feds may not have it exactly right in the Parks but it's a helluva lot better than the Alta Govt. The policy appears to be- if you can't drill it, log it or mine it the land is useless. A greater danger to fishing rights is not restricted access in a NP, but destruction of habitat outside the parks. If anything I think we need more Prov/Nat Parks and the rules that go with them just to ensure our current fisheries will be here in the future. Regards Mike
  12. I have read that a sudden cold snap occurring before the little buggers have a chance to develop their "antifreeze" will kill them. Don't know if this weather came on fast enough. Regards Mike
  13. Didn't even know dry aged was available in Alta. It's a little pricey for everyday, but for a special treat HOT DAMN. Thanks for the links Regards Mike
  14. In the winter rather than BBQ- 2" thick Filet seasoned with steak spice or marinade, sear both sides on hot grill to seal then finish in oven to desired doneness. I found using the oven made it easy to control. Take steak out, tent with foil to rest for 5 min. Lots of sauces on line if you like. Regards Mike
  15. Beer and wine are proof God loves us and wants us to be happy We can't screw around with them so bye-bye Tar Sands. Regards Mike
  16. While I am a firm believer in anthropogenic climate change, I'm not sure about: A Is it going to be as bad as some make out, and B Can we realistically do anything about it In the overall scheme of things, I think overpopulation is going to be more of a problem and is probably a leading cause of climate change Regards Mike
  17. Nice Post, I don't totally agree, but it lays out a pretty balanced approach. Now I'm going to shovel some " Climate Change" off my driveway. Regards Mike
  18. I think linking Al Gore to Hitler and Jim Jones is a little over the top. Whether you agree with his views or not, to demonize him in this form is ridiculous. The man wrote a book for his daughters and the world picked up on it and ended up with him getting a Nobel Prize, hardly an evil person. I wonder what the world would be like if he had been elected POTUS instead of GWB. Regards Mike
  19. The earth is NOT cooling that is a blatant falsehood. There are at least a hundred more links other than this one saying the same thing. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20091208/ap_on_sc/climate Regards Mike
  20. Yup, one of my favorites along with the dead parrot skit. Regards Mike
  21. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=teMlv3ripSM Regards Mike
  22. I bet the Service Stations in Rocky would be sending you Xmas presents to get you to fill up Regards Mike
  23. The world ends in 2012, so there is no sense getting our knickers in a knot over anything. Regards Mike
  24. Sun You're wrong. Regards Mike PS discussion is going in circles, so I have nothing more to say.
