Yeah man, I work at the Signal Hill store and we have at least a half-dozen. I'd assume that most HMV's will have it in stock.

Wanna bet on that? I still think he's going to become a star with the Oilers. The Oilers have been looking for a sniper to play with Hemmer for a couple seasons, and he was under their nose all along (Horcoff). Hemsky will carry them both to career-year's this season, and as Penner continues to improve that line is going to be a 1st line to be reckoned with. If Hemmer was playing with someone like Ovechkin or Kovalchuk he'd already be in the top 15.

Whose to say they wouldn't win these games in OT? During the regular season they really should have more than 5 minutes, I'd much rather see a full period of intense end-to-end OT then a shoot-out. If the Oilers do make the playoffs this year I'll be thrilled, as I wasn't expecting it. But by the 09-10 season when Gagner and Hemsky are in the top 15 in scoring, and Pitkanen is in the running for the Norris (sign this guy asap K-Lowe), and guys like Cogliano and Nilsson are tearing it up, they are going to be a serious threat for years to come. You can quote me on that

"Loser points", "gimmick wins"? Is that you Glenn Healy? Enjoy watching a strong flames team while you can; what do you have to look forward to after guys like Nolan, Conroy, Aucoin, Langkow, Yelle, etc. start having hip and eyesight problems? If you were hinting that Gagner is just a shootout specialist you're sadly mistaken.

I work at HMV and I've only seen that record purchased by a couple of 40year-old-ish ladies who were giggling in embarrassment when they asked for it. On a slightly related note the Josh Groban Christmas album is flying off the shelves; why anyone wants to hear that dude turn Christmas classics into boring overdone crap is beyond me. His voice sounds like a funeral.

Brent, I was simply stating the biggest issue facing the Oilers that needs to change for them to contend. It's not any different than flames fans saying that they can only compete if Kiprusoff plays well. Glen Murray might help the flames in the immediate future, but I think they've already got enough geezers who are due to burn-out and be checked into an old folks home pretty soon...

I'm with you vhawk, that game was just awesome. Same with the Detroit game the other night. When they're playing like that it's easy to understand why they are Don Cherry's favourite team to watch. Who doesn't love watching a young, fast team as they grow into a real contender. They are loaded with young talent, and with the good possibility of a new owner and arena, the future of the Oilers franchise looks very bright. And how about Horcoff, on pace for 35+ goals. He looks like a real bargain now.

Edmonton is in good shape, and can only get better when their captain gets back. The return of Pisani and Souray has been a boost, and they are just now getting back to the line-up that they planned on having all year, and did surprisingly well during that couple months of injuries. At this point they can only get better. If they start winning divisional games in regulation they will make it to the post-season.

Wow, sick fish man. Those would count as monsters for me.

What Ever Happened To That Russian Guy?

If our worst fears are true, then RIP RussianFishKiller Too bad a lot of his classic posts were not archived... -
I agree, and it's probably impossible to come up with a completely original fly these days anyway. Nice fly Brent.

Awesome, galaxie has some great stations. Thanks for the tip, I'll have to check it out.

Haha On a slightly related topic, has anyone here heard the Plant/Allison Krauss album? It's actually a pretty solid record

Thanks man. I love chasing little brookies but sometimes nothing beats catching the big trout that would eat them as snacks. -
New Rules For Entering Alberta
snakeman replied to LynnF's topic in General Chat - Fly Fishing Related
Nice one, those driving rules are spot-on. After living in eastern Ontario for 4 months and driving in and around towns like Kingston and Belleville, coming home to Calgary traffic has been an absolute nightmare. I do think Birchy is right about gas prices, though; in my road travels between Calgary and Kingston over the years I have noticed that gas is always highest between Wawa and Thunder Bay, usually peaking at Thunder Bay. One thing I don't understand though is that in October I was buying gas in Belleville for 92 cents/ltr, while in Calgary it was like $1.03/ltr. -

Oh yeah, there are lots of small, productive spring-fed streams to be found, you just need to put in the time to find 'em. I've got one chalk full of little beauties like this: -
The Night Before Christmas

Haha that's great, good stuff. -
The coverage for this was crazy, considering they are only 3/4th's of the original band. When Cream reunited in '05 I didn't see anything about the London or New York shows in the papers or on tv, but the shows drew people like Jimmy Page, Paul McCartney, Joe Perry, Brian May, Sean Penn, etc. There was just one little ad in the New York Times, and they still became MSG's highest grossing shows. This Zeppelin reunion was totally overhyped, they were a great band but not great enough to warrant front page coverage on Calgary newspapers. Funny that Zeppelin can still get away with making money on plagiarism, with people paying fortunes to hear stolen songs like 'Whole Lotta Love', 'Dazed and Confused', "Stairway to Heaven', etc.

"Is it illegal to cut grass!?" Hahahaha

Haha, he reminds me of a hyper little kid on a sugar rush. I find his enthusiasm entertaining at times, but he can get really annoying.
-
Ha, well aside from a brief mention of Fernando's incredible recovery story, he was lost amidst all the Crosby-hype. And wow does Pierre McGuire love that guy or what, I have never heard someone make so many raving comments about a guy's leg strength and explosiveness
-
Ah that'll help them out for sure. I'm guessing he'll get the C back? It belongs on the sweater of a good leader with strong character, not a total asswipe....

Did that fact come from a recent poll or something? Probably 'cause of all them damn easterners migrating west to get rich quick
