    Brookies

    Gorgeous brookies man. Wow...
  2. My brother was working in Santa Fe, Texas (between Houston and Galveston). Haven't heard yet if the shop they were trying to set up got damaged or destroyed. Minimal communications from my bro that's for sure.... all we got was a short e-mail "im going back to houston stop worrying"... lol
  3. How bout on the day of the thing, a random draw from a hat. you either get an "A" or a "B". that's your team for the day. A's can go fish with B's, and can count eachothers fish. Total most fish caught team gets to sit around while the losing team has to cook the supper. Done deal... everybody wins and it would still be a lot of fun. Thje winning team gets to boast and puff out their chests while the losers cook. All in good fun...
  4. Trophy winner for the biggest taped fish over two days, and maybe the team with the most fish ... trophy to be handed down every year. The winner there gets a prize, must be verified and picture with tape, etc. The rest of prizes could be random draws. I like the idea. sometimes competition brings out the best in people. I love friendly competition.. but...sometimes, it brings out the worst... too... I've seen guys lose their heads over FRIENDLY competitions... like golf, fishing, etc.
  5. That pool is a "gooder"
  6. So replying to a thread where fish are clearly being harmed is unwarranted? where's your head? PS. I don't guide... dunno where you going with that one. Quit that a long time ago.
  7. Fish laying on the gawddamn rocks is a lot more pressing than someone holding a nice bull trout OVER the water for the pics.... If your gonna bitch at this bull trout, just simply stop fishing. If it's +30C and the water temps 65-70 on the Bow.... I'll bet I can still find you on the Bow somewhere.... your doing JUST as much harm if not more. I'll also never want to see you on a steelhead stream... Or fishing for pike in the spring... Or fishing for ANY BROWN TROUT ANYWHERE right now as there getting ready to spawn soon... Oh yeah that means the ENTIRE bow... I mean dude..... hit the real issues like people leaving there *hit all over the place and leaving fish on rocks for pictures... we can ALL agree that's doing harm....
  8. Soooo.... how cold was the water
  9. Nice fish.... too bad you had to lay a lot of them or rocks and grass and remove their protective slime coating, and possibly kill them :$*%&:
  10. You guys are bitching in here about this post yet you left another with fish laying on rocks and DEFINATELY being mistreated - alone??? what's the agenda folks?? Nice bull guys.
  11. Hope it veers south and / or loses some strength. Right now it's still Cat2 I think.
  12. Geez my best fish of the year is the huge rainbow I got down close to home (30.5") in the srping at a private pond (not really a huge secret... palmer ranch) Close second is all the big bulls from "That river in the kooteneys" Some pics of them in the BC reports
  13. You answered your own question Split shot, streamer, and cast it into anywhere YOU would hide if you were going to ambush other fish. think like a fish...
  14. Nice fish ... the pose with the sunset is a great shot :-)
  15. what a great post cam..... I'd often wondered the same thing. I can cast (with double hual) about 60-70ft with my 10ft 6wt bow river rod, but when I was out there I found the water covered was so, soooooooo, much better with a two hander
  16. Phat dope tyte shizzle ........... Or frikkin unreal... either way, your pics are awesome
  17. these pics are amazing... and have me twitching to set the hook!
  18. You musta been up in them thar' hills
  19. Hey Clive, would you be able to PM me Jeffs contact info? I'll be out there doing 5 days of walk and wades that I donated to streamwatch starting Aug 25th, and would love to meet him for coffee or breakfast or whatever he wants one morning... I'm buying.
  20. Not at all. Try going down to texas or Arkansas or anywhere south. Any little patch of public land is beat bare with atv tracks. The problem is the alberta government doesn't have the balls to step up and protect the environment. And BC's does (as much as we complain about fees and everything else, at least there DOING something!!!)
  21. Introducing, new on the market today... "Hawgstoppahs Tippet Shop". For those hard to find tippets for hook sizes that just don't have a tippet Try our new size 3.2 tippet for your #18 hook Or our 2.5 tippet for your #10 san juans, a real beauty
  22. So I go away for a week and the first post I open up..... is this! lol
  23. Wow.... extremely "dope" pics man
  24. Bingo. Having guided and taught many folks how to chuck this 2 nymph heavy weight and indicator setup, I'll bet this is exactly what's happening. The fix: just what he said. Literally watch your line behind you and let it straighten out before you forward cast. Cast with your rod held slightly out from your body on an angle (not straight up and down over your head). WAIT UNTIL YOU FEEL THE ROD LOAD.... before each forward cast.... you'll feel a tug .... that's when to go forward. If your not feeling that tug then your actual backcast is not powerfull enough to keep the system airborne, and there falling behind you or into you on the backcast. Hope this helps Never ever try to cast the nymphs with slack in the line, always, ALWAYS strip line until your tight to them before making your next cast.
