  1. Then I was able to cross one off the bucket list thanks to some good friends in Red Deer, with my very first RDR brown. Next up was a ton of days on my home stream after the opener
  2. I figured I should share my year with you all, it was a good one! I did a LOT less fishing, started a new job, and became "busy" with life but the few times I did get out made it all the more sweet to be on the water. First trip of the year was to the old stomping grounds!! It was a good day, decent fishing and great company. Second trip was a surprising April visit to another stream where I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of fish this year. so long buddy thanks for the ride!!!
  3. gooders!
  4. Southfork was a total blast when I went up there. Definitely on my to do list again. Heck of a hike, but worth it
  5. My dream trip now would be a week with my dad, anywhere.
  6. BiggyJ, I just had a friend who was over in Thailand return early due to terrorism activity that beheaded some 20-odd tourists very close to where they were. I'd NOT recommend that at this time myself, but you may have some different info. Just a shout out.. if you didn't know. Political unrest and all..
  7. yeah! me too! First nice weekend I am free is going to see me hitting the crow
  8. Your one paycheck is 4k??? Any job openings??? Seriously if I had 4k right now I'd probably look for a used jet boat. A really loud one that makes a huge wake.
  9. IE explorer 11
  10. No one has mentioned any lakes yet, but do some site searching on Bullshead Reservoir. Opens up on April 1st (provided the ice is off) and can provide some really nice shore fishing with a fly rod for a couple of months until the weeds are too thick. Down south in my neck of the woods Police Lake (Open April 1 as well) is fairing well and fishing well, but you nearly need a pontoon to fish it though there is "ok" fishing from the island and a walk up the north shore. There is also chain lakes that is a real good fishery if you just need to have a riot sometimes.. tons of small ones and the odd monster will surprise you. Lower Kananaskis Lake should be noted as well, it can be a good place to hook into a large bull trout on the fly especially in the spring. Hope that helps.
  11. Whoa. Ok so the issue is this forum does not like Internet Explorer one bit. Good to know. I hate google with a passion, but if I get the urge to post pics I guess I'll have to use it
  12. just tried again. what I do is click on the little picture frame icon above, and it says enter url. I paste a URL into the box and hit OK. Nothing happens and it locks up my Internet Explorer entirely. I have to exit the browser and restart to come back to browsing on the forum.
  13. My problem is that I actually cannot enter a URL in the image link on the site here? What browser are you guys using? Does this forum not support Internet Explorer?
  14. Well handled. I still remember long ago learning myself through this very forum, how to better handle fish. I hope you can show us the finished drawing / painting / graphic? I am not sure why you wouldn't be able to unless it is for a non sponsoring fishing guide company, etc.
  15. LOL in all honesty I have hardly touched it since the Bow. The fish down here don't prefer it over better flies I use
  16. I cant figure out how to post pics in this new forum at all. I open the little image box, and it let's me put a URL in there but then won't do anything and literally times out or freezes the page. I've just decided to not post because I was too lazy to care or too busy to care but I do have some nice pics from the last few years I'd like to share with the community. So what's the secret? Step by step, HOW are you posting pics on this board? Thanks!
  17. surprised none of the forum whiners have jumped all over that fish laying on the rocks picture without first getting all the info needed. If it was actually a catch and release fish, all I'll say is please educate yourself through some of the many helpful posts on the board on proper fish handling, and if you ate it... YUM. I absolutely love that hook up shot by the log jamb that is a freekin classic! EDIT: Oh forgot to mention, that artwork - you have a really good eye and great design skills. I'd buy the T-Shirt, for what it's worth
  18. Looking forward to stopping in again this summer at some point save a chair by that fire
  19. Would you believe someone PM'd me thinking I was talking about using WD40 for steel? Good lord! Jayhad trolls this board all the time I was merely suggesting he add a little juice to the troll bait he's dangling in front of folks (especially ones that don't get the joke, twice, and PM someone)
  20. Screw $800. Get $900 out of it
  21. Teck I am with you on the Mouse pattern. I landed my second largest rainbow ever, this year, on a mouse pattern in Stillwater and I still feel the adrenaline rush of that take when I think about it! If I could figure out how to post pictures on here I would, but it won't accept my links for some reason
  22. My absolute favorite dry fly to fish is a stonefly. I love those vicious takes!!!
  23. Jayhad, try spraying a little wd40 on those baits. Pulls 'em in from miles away
  24. The combination of an amazing event, really great footage, the music, and the fact that it is winter here and I have longed to see rising trout..... this just sent shivers down my spine. What a GREAT video thanks for posting!!
