    Friday's Float

Ed stop pouchin my waters, lol, just kidding dude, like I told you on friday, freakin amazing fish and good on yeah. We have to get out sometime soon, and hey don't forget the timmies!
  2. Bloom, I know that Fishtales have a hatch reel in their display case but do not know exactly what they carry. Also maybe you want to look into the serria reels the new TX2 is pretty cool.
  3. Correct me if I am wrong but up till the early 2000 wasn't loop reels made by danielson? Also looking at the new danielson and the loops they have alot of feathers that are exactly the same. MR Bcube, have you even ever owned a loop reel or are you just using second hand information? BTW are you talking for all the shops in town when you say that they do not carry the reels because they break too easy cause I would like to explore this some more and find out the reason, personally I think it has something to do with up until the last year or two there wasn't a market for their spey reels, but of course I could be wrong on this. As for the Lamson Velocity, I personally own one and do not like it too much for a couple of reasons. 1) Way too heavy (not so bad when I put it on my 8wt 12.6 but on my 6wt 12.6 and my 7wt 11.6 it just is way oo heavy) 2) Very loud reel which I do not like 3) The spools for changing line setups are a huge pain in the ass 4) I find I am cleaning the inside of it way too much also. I say get what you like and screw what others have to say.

    Loop Opti

That Loop Opti Cost is surly a sweet stick there mark
  5. Yeah I love that opti cost, whenever Mark pulled it out I had to go over and swing it a couple of times. Was great also that Peter got out with his collection of roods and reels, it was fun to try something completely new to me. Can't wait till the next one.

    Loop Opti

  7. FNG, Here is a little secret that will help you out. COFIIDENCE. Have cofinidence when you go out to the river and remeber the best out there have tuff days too (Note: no way in hell would I classifie myself as beeing in the same grouping as THE BEST) Also maybe try a diffrent run, if that area is close for you maybe try the hullswood to Bernsmead section. Diffrent water structure, diffrent food supply, more croweded lol, etc... I find that if I get stuck in the rut that I go to the same spot day in and day out and get nothing it is usally the fish gods telling me that I need to explore some new water. One of these days I'll try and get out with you and we can go and catch nothing togather (Note: I am nutoriously known for hooking into lots of trout but my landing ratio isn't the best.)
  8. DANG, I guess I have no way around this so I will be out there as well, got a new line system that I am dailing in my rods to. I'll most likely bring out my Beulha 7116, my TFO Pro 6126 and my other TFO Pro 8126 Haven't really throwen too much with my skagit setup so I might take it for a spin and see what type of distance I can get with how much weight. Anyways hope there can be alot of people showing up, the last one that we had was a blast, had lots of fun trying out diffrent line and rig setups. HEADSCAN come on out again and bring that Opti Cost, that was the sickest single hander I have used in a LOOOOONG time. Max, the switch that you talked about is that the new custom one, or was that the one that I casted? Doc, I got a new line set up that me and greg have been using that is absoultly the sickest thing I have ever tried. Dave, Spey casting not that hard if you have half a brain which I hope you do cause otherwise its time to bring out the shotgun cause zombies are roaming the streets.
  9. The worst thing about this is that I had used Greg's rod the day it was caught in the hatch crease and when I got home the following day he called me up and was like "Way to go Brad, you broke my Blueline by wacking it with hooks and put a fracture in the rod tip" After some time of me sweating out this Greg finally let the cat out of the bag. YOU BASTARD!
  10. Problem with breaking these rods is that the "Blueline" has now been discountied and replaced by the opti series. So I think it all depends on weather they are able to find a tip for the rid, if so I would look into maybe getting a replacement part for all 4 pieces if possible. Correct me if I am wrong but doesn't loop warrenty only cover original ownership?
  11. This might work but I doubt it. What sounds like happened to me is when Mitch's bro steped on his laptop he might of pushed the HD pin down against the disk (If you have ever taken a HD apart you will notice that the actuall Disk looks like the old floppy drives, and there is a small pin that reads the data) Also your ball bearings on the HD could of come out thus not allowing the disk to spin propperly. If the pin has touch the disk surface most likely there is nothing you can, data recovery programs might work but you might just get partical info or corrupt data depending where the damage was done on the HD. I had a external HD that I had dropped and this is what happened the wiz's at Memory Express took apart my HD and showed me this, that is why I no longer buy portable external HD's and just get one 1TB EXT HD that stays in the same place all the time, no chance of me beeing clumsy and dropping it again.
  12. Don, From time to time I like reading your insightful posts but how can you classifie one guides actions with all guides. I dunno if every guide outfits does anything to prevent WD but to have a grudge against one guding outfit then label them all that way without anything to back it up is just plain out right disgusting IMO, by the way I know of a couple of guides that make their forigen clients wash their waders and gear before coming into our rivers. I think if you really wanna press this issuse its not just the guides that have to be mindful of this but everyone that goes to diffrent rivers, lakes, tribs, etc... You just don't know what type of contaminates (sp) might be in the water system.
  13. Well lets look at it this way then. What car would someone steal for a joyride? A rusted buick pos without a club or a honda civic with a club? I would go for the civic heance why they are one of the most stolen vechicles. Easier to rip off the better cut tap, and then whatever they do to the ignition switch I dunno, never stolen I car before! Anyways I guess what I am saying is a lock only stops a honest theif.
  14. Btw clubs don't work. Here is how you get by the club, take a hacksaw and cut through the steering wheel. Club falls to the ground, take piece of duck tape and wrap it around where the cut was made. I dunno if this has been improved or fix but my uncle who worked in the crime unit for the RCMP's showed me that years ago when the club first came out.
  15. I think I will come out for this as I like casting diffrent rods and diffrent setups.
  16. I'm in a toss up over this. Here are somethings I see. 1) If a guide or whoever gets to a "HOT-SPOT" before anyone else, why should they be penalized for this or force to move on? If I walk and waded to a place does that now mean I have a time limnit on where I can fish? If not why do I get special treatment and the guide gets the boot? 2) Some people have seen my reaction to idoits or bad guides on the river that float up beside meor do other stupid things. First I speak up, second if nothing happens I start throwing rocks all around the boat, please note I am not trying to hit the boat or anyone in it but if the boat is going to stop me from fishing well paybacks a bitch. 3) The only problem I see with forming an association is who is going to be in charged of it and who is going to enforce it? Alot of these things are good and I agree with the basic princiapale of it, but what can be done to make it a reality, and what about the GOOD GUIDES that don't want to have change done and what to keep it the same way. I don't know how many guides vist this board but this is something that should be brought up at TU meetings. Just my 2 cents
  17. Without a doubt I use polorized glasses makes a huge diffrence. Get the amber ones since they are better to see with on overcast days. I usally spend between 25 to 50 dollers for mine.
  18. If you ask me it looks like a stone fly pattern just with biots for the legs instead of rubber legs. Just my 2 cents though
  19. Tim, I will make it easy for you. 1) Once you have the file that your photo's are contained in press ctr + A (This is the command to select all) 2) Right click and select "Cut" (You will notice that they will be light in color 3) Go to the file on your computer you wish to store them and then right click and select paste That's all you need to do and all the pics will be moved over. If you are selecting pic then hold down the ctr button and select the files you want then repeat streps 2 and 3 To get ride of them all once you have moved the photo's you want to keep then once again press ctr + a and instead of clicking cut this time click delete. All photo's will then be moved to your rececyle bin on you comp. Pretty easy *hit if you ask me
  20. I have learned over the past three years that cofiedence is diffently something you need when fishing the Bow. I have been lucky and able to fish with some great people and that has helped alot. But when I go out to the river with a attitude that I am going to accoplish something usally it turns out good. As Max once said to me When life gives you lemons, turn that *hit gold. Not that the wood or sheep is bad, but I just love fishing the bow. Oh and EXPLORE, the fish aren't stupid they'll move away from a pressured run. Hope that helps out some
  21. I have caught trout through the day from morning to night (disclaimer: can I do this consently, that is a diffrent matter.) I guess the trick to it is just observing where you are catching fish during diffrent times through out the day and applying that to diffrent outings, I keep of fishing journal that I scrible in everytime I go out. Helped me alot. I guess in the end is there REALLY a bad time to be out fishing? Better then working if you ask me.
  22. When I am setting the hook on a dry fly I usally say "Gottacha" before I set the hook. What you gotta remeber is when you see the take the fish is going down with the fly and can spit it very quickly so usally a 1 or 2 sec pause when you see the take then set the hook. This should improve you hook to land ratio.
  23. I am sure there are some kind of privacy issuses beeing violated here!
  24. I have a yorkie/snozer that is also named Samson, watchout lynn I think the name is cursed as my puppy is a crazy little thing.
