Rainbows spawn in the spring. I would say that the change in color is due to the water temperature. I have caught cutthroats in mountain lakes recently and they are dark in color.

Checked Waiparous creek yesterday and it is the regular flow of high and muddy for this time of year and the Ghost is running fast with glacial silt. It will be awhile until they clean up. later, Dekk

Found 3 guys last night poaching trout out of the Bow here in Cochrane. Found 6 brown trout heads and 3 Rockies dead on the bank. They took off quick and I wasn't able to get a plate number. I reported it to r-a-p. I'll get 'em someday. Dekkard.
