Posting Fishing Locations
troutlover replied to KnotLikely's topic in General Chat - Fly Fishing Related
KnotLikely i agree with you, that when you post on this board it is to the masses and i do hope people keep that in mind. Also your right you didn't insinuate Hullswood was a secret spot i read out of context. Something to add to my first post is that it is important to get beginners into fish because that is what keeps your confidence up and people fishing and if i have to give some good spots on already popular water i will. However, i will through a pm and not to the masses (as i hope to respect the space of those on the board who do only make it out for a couple hrs in the city on the weekend). I've had alot of positive experiences with new members on this board taking them out and it's something i hope to do more of next year. -

Remind me to ....NEVER!!!......Tell Brent my secret spots on the bow....... in Fish creek park...... that have a THOUSAND pictures posted of them on the board. Dude this one just had to make you laugh a little. Good for you showing someone to a popular spot where you know they'er going to have a good chance at a winter fish. I share the Bow in the city limits quite freely because i know its going to always have alot of people fishing it.(city of 1 000 000 figure it out) There are a hundred great spots with good access, also i'm usually on it from 7pm to 1am and for some reason (i can't figure out why) the river is vacant during these hrs. Yes i have spots that i share with only a few and never on the board (south of the city). I also have a personal policy that I always notify a person who has shared a spot, if i'm going to their spot. But as for the Bow in the city whats there to be all hush about? I don't get it. P.S--POLICE OUTPOST = HUGE FISH -
There are BIG fish in there already my dads friend pulled out a five pounder last week and several 3 to 4 all over 20". All made it back to their home under the ice. I love that lake glad to hear about the new regs. I've been fishing there since i was three and my uncle was the CO there 25 years ago. It's had ups and downs but every trip worth it. Glad the winter harvest is going to end it is a total meat market.

Ffc Campout - Location
troutlover replied to Hawgstoppah's topic in General Chat - Fly Fishing Related
I don't get leaving a world class river to crowd a foothills stream. If it's a social event more people would be able to make it (to the bow) for maybe just the day or a day and night and leave early, or an evening night fish and leave form the camp for work in the morning if it falls on a weekday. Also there is going to be guys there who know how to fish and id rather get shown a thing or two on the bow where i fish all the time than on a foothills stream where IMO anyone can catch fish. Another point i'd be more willing to show spots i fish on the bow than spots i go to in the foothills. But mostly i think that a location by the bow would be the best bet for the majority of people. -
1.mostly i love the large quantities of food available all week long 2.up week after halloween my wife loves christmas 3.i don't know, not a drinker 4.new ice fishing tent.

That kicked ass thanks brett. -
I have the pentax w30 and the view finder on it is ok. It has great video capablities and i find it easier to use than the 720sw but that might be just a preferance thing. Go to a store and try them both out.

we don't have a great track record either (must be me)

well shoot! sucks to miss what sounded like a really good time. As the old Family or fishing survey goes i had to choose family that day i tried to convince them to pick up garbage but my kid wanted to go to calaway park so i lost the vote. Thanks to thoes who organized the event can't wait to attend next year and count me in to help organize. Who is the new organizer for next year? p.s-Rick, I'm hurt.

Rickr's Story Of The Week
troutlover replied to reevesr1's topic in General Chat - Fly Fishing Related
IT was no beaver i saw the splash and it was text book brown trout slash. And then text book big fish casual pull up stream then when rick started to put the boots to him he took of to his safe spot on the otherside of the river where i know the big boys in that section live during the day. I was tellin Rick comon you gotta palm the reel and pull!! and hes like "you have no idea how much pressure i have on this fish!" So he stops the reel and pulls and the fish didn't budge. And i'm just thinking WOW! i'd love to have seen that fish but..........a hooked Beaver would have kicked our arses. -
Ya when your in Mongers favorite spots he sends his dog into the water "accidently" .
