  1. FYI, you guys are lucky. 90% of the creeks here are closed to fishing until July 1
  2. You guys slay me My buddy Greg is the same way as you Brent. Everything he touches either disintegrates or lights on fire
  3. On the redds is a no no. Anything else is fair game. I draw my own line at bull trout from mid August to the end of September. I won't deliberately target them during that time. It's too easy, and I have too much respect for those big ol warriors.
  4. I'm hesitant about a fast action, which is why this Orvis peaks my interest, as they offer it in their "mid-flex" I need a good tackle store so I can actually cast these rods
  5. Play safe guys. 4" of April melt ice is nowhere near enough. But that's why we have Darwin awards I guess.
  6. Never broken one. Touch wood. But I bought one of the toughest blanks ever as my startup rod, a St Croix Pro Graphite.
  7. Apparently I am one of the few who like FUNCTIONAL over FANCY. Give me flies that catch fish, not fishermen ???
  8. Ebay scares me. I'm looking there, albeit tentatively.
  9. Scott V2 ??? I was (and sortof still am) looking at the A2 a while back. How does the V2 compare to the A2. Sheeite. May as well buy em all!
  10. You're counting out Crosby's epic team? The east will be a glory battle to end all battles this year. I cannot wait to see what goes down this year.
  11. Yeah I saw that, thanks, but its a 4wt and I'd like a 5. More backbone for those Dragon slugs
  12. Being the indecisive bastid that I am, I'm still deciding on a 4pc 5wt to add to the collection. I want it for backpacking and all purpose use. I'm looking at around the $200 mark for the rod. My fallback position is another Launch, but variety IS the spice of life So I'm looking at something different. The only 4pc rods available in PG right now are one TFO 6wt, a 5wt Launch and a couple higher end Sages. Read: Business Opportunity in Prince George!!!!! We need a real flyshop!!!!! So I'm stuck with ordering online. Anyway, point of post. Anyone familiar with the Orvis Clearwater? Looks to be a decent rod @ the right price Orvis Clearwater
  13. I count 3, maybe 4 or 5. Not real defined, but they're thinkin bout it. And all of the above sirocco.

    Still Winter

Still four feet of snow in the bush and no sign of runoff. I'm gonna go nuts. Normally by this time I'm slaying em. No fish to be found, they're still in the lakes. At least I can wade now.....
  15. Sick post dude. Love the bones shot
  16. Tripod helps too. 'Macro' function is the one you're looking for
  17. I've been buying UVEX from Costco. 4 sets of interchangeable lenses ($55ish). But the quality of the polarization on my last set sucked (cracking/spiderwebbing) so I'm going to be ordering another set of Sundogs. I used to pay $100 for them, but I found them on EBAY for $55 yank! WHOOT! Best glasses ever = SUNDOG
  18. lmao Greg don't even bother. You'll just look stupid on Stauffer with a spey lmao. Spey = cool factor. Would love to try it, but don't see it becoming a presence in my arsenal for a long time.
  19. lmao.....the flames are gonna stagger out of this series.....but they'll stagger out on top after 7 double OT games.
  20. Have a goodun Clive!
  21. I'd focus more on damsels in the first week of June. Make sure you have a well stocked damsel and dragon supply, as well as some mayfly emerger patterns. Chironomids for the time period mentioned = BOMBERS. #12 to #6, match the hatch. My best colour combos are: Black / red Red / silver Olive / black
  22. Hey. Waita...yougotohell!
  23. If you find yourself in BC shoot me a PM!
