For My Listening Pleasure

Saw Corb many times in the local establishment.. Always a good show. Saw Ol' Eon once where he hit the bar a little too often and couldn't play the second set... Jailbreak's a wicked tune.. Love the scene in Fubar when Terry and Dean are wrecking everything and that song's playing. Hehehe.. ( Don't know too many other people who are fans of Corb, Ian, and Metallica..) -
Gotta love warm days, wet snow and cold nights. Those sledders, what a tragedy..

Wanted to get myself a new double-gun for clays and birds. 625 Citori to be exact.. Then I realized it might be a while before I break down and get an FAC... -
I've probably looked at that pic 10 times and just noticed the dude behind the bushes....

Nice pics fellas.. Mine's nothing really stellar, but there's a "reverence" or something in it that I kind of liked and makes it a fave. Lorney down south..

2008 Year In Review
jksnijders replied to SanJuanWorm's topic in General Chat - Not Fishing Related (NFR)
A pretty good year all around. Fished for a week at a time several times, and many short trips in between. Learned alot of new techniques, useful patterns, and spots. Found new rivers and spots that I'll definitely return to, and old ones that are still favourites. Personal best fish in 3 species, and alot of practice taking pics and video. Saw some pretty awesome sights, hiked some damn beautiful country, and caught some amazingly beautiful fish. Now the endless wait for spring so I can do it all again.. -
We're In Trouble Tonight!!!

I'd be willing to bet ol' Sarah is far handier with the steel than Dick Cheney, but she'd still better watch out since he apparently never learned the first lesson of bird hunting... Make sure the bird clears everyone BEFORE you start blasting... -
How A Xmas Tradition Began

Hehe.. Thats awesome. -
I tie them both in at the same time. Pinch them to the desired length, then hold them so each side is on opposite sides of the hook. I usually figure for the length I want when finished, and leave lots to work with to tie in. Clip the excess, done. I use them for legs and tails, 4 per fly in this way. I splay the legs out, perhaps this helps ride the current better, I don't know. Seems to work good though. As I'm sure you noticed they have a natural curve to them, so I put the curves facing out away from each other.

I didn't get checked once either. Numerous times in all years previous, and as you say about bait containers, found many as well down south. I did see a group of inbred-hick looking jerkoffs get nailed at Bullshead for using bait and keeping everything, however, which brought a smile to my face..

Well put. I understand your point of view now.. My previous post may have seemed a little knee-jerk, but here's my perspective. I can say with a fair degree of certainty that I will never work a union job. In the case of the auto sector, I think there are obviously quite a few factors involved, but it's hard for me not to think that the Autoworkers union help matters much. I'm blown away by the wages I hear about on an auto assembly line, for what I'm sure people would say is "hard" work. Which is great for the guy cashing the checks, for sure. I guess the scenario that comes to mind is the one of killing the goose that laid the golden egg. All the overhead those outfits drop on pensions, benefits, executive bonuses, etc. etc. are all just nails in the coffin I'm sure. Especially when your business is becoming increasingly un-competitive. I guess it's just hard for me to stomach that my taxes are possibly going to be paying for a bailout of an industry that runs like that. I think that unions have definitely done good things for workers, but its quite a bit different world from the ages of heavy industrialization where I've read much of abuses by employers. I guess it seems to me that I just don't like the "that's not my job" mentality. I was talking to a guy the other day who was heading to Hibernia, which is apparently unionized. He had some pretty interesting stories about that, for sure. I'm sure that outlook permeates a business to the point where politics and bullshit get fairly well in the way of actually getting anything done. Perhaps people lose sight of the big picture, then find themselves in the position the Auto sector is now in. I agree to let those companies go tits up would probably have serious consequences, I just find it all a bitter pill to swallow.

Goddamn Right.

Quick Trip To Castlegar This Weekend
jksnijders replied to birchy's topic in General Chat - Not Fishing Related (NFR)
Um.. OK. I'm sorry, my comprehension skills mustn't be was they used to... Don't read into people's statements too much. It seemed to be fairly based around the issue of closures to me, and probably also gear (Not sure, but I think using more than one fly isn't legal there?) I can't imagine there are a pile of people on this board who would only choose to follow the regs based on what the fine would be for a particular infraction.
