  1. I left Calgary about 6 Friday heading to a function in Red Deer. Got there 3 hours later. Standstill traffic for the wreck near Crossfield, went east to the 761 to get around it and promptly came upon a big rig in the ditch. Back to the 2, and the panic stricken that were travelling it. As was said about someone killed near Airdrie, yes, a terrible thing, but as I was heading home tonight I saw a guy south of Airdrie on the shoulder filling his truck with a jerry can, with no hazards on. Honestly, could a person have any more horrible instincts? As well as the 2 other cars pulled over on the shoulder, one guy rooting around in his driver's side backseat for God knows what.. Wait for an approach, or pull off the road a bit more at least. About 2 seconds of someone else not paying attention and you're 6 feet under.
  2. Here's mine.. Kind of a work in progress.
  3. Yup. Took my Rescue Diver certification in Two Jack and Minnewanka. 7 mm wetsuit helped a bit but it was a solid week before my boys came out of hiding...
  4. Would I be wrong to think that Enron once held that status? (In some circles..)
  5. It would seem apparent that I blame the jerkoffs that can't help but throw *hit out the window.
  6. I feel the same way about Banff that I do about Herpes. (HST...) Just so there is no confusion as to my point of view....
  7. No drive thru's=less garbage tossed from vehicles.
  8. I just don't understand what is so difficult about keeping garbage in the vehicle with you until you reach a proper receptacle.
  9. Obviously never had to pick up other people's garbage... When I was a kid I got to pick garbage out of a half-mile of secondary highway frontage ditch that bordered our home place. Taught me really fast not to throw anything out the window. Too bad so many people in the world are so oblivious to their own actions, and have yet to realize that their mothers are not on standby to clean up after them.
  10. Taco is on my team...he's definitely no lightweight.
  11. I haven't caught 100 fish in my whole life.
  12. Mine was a fish Lorne got. Didn't get out much this year thanks to work, but did manage a bit of exploring in places outside the usual. Hit a few places where guys carrying flyrods are a rarity to say the least. Tried some different things at different times, lost (and found) some gear, drank a few beers, and had one interesting encounter on the water with probably the most unique vessel I've ever seen. Tried a few new ways to get into previously hard to access water,(having a few landowner friends helped a little..) This one was a result, 44", and just nice looking. I've seen and caught a good number over 40, and this is one of the prettiest. Saw Lorne hook up, and after about 10 seconds and a nod, I spooled up and grabbed the cradle. After she surfaced, seeing the distance between the line and the tailfin, and then the considerable amount of real estate she occupied in the cradle, Lorne didn't shake the grin for a good while. Hopefully I'll run into her around this time next year... (The half-chicken streamer found a watery grave a good ways west of Longview, if anyone finds it some day.)
  13. You've obviously got a real feel for the participants of this board in the last 4 days..
