  1. last fall when my rod got snapped, i finally did too. guides? often worst offenders. very very sad but true. "i have paying clients". lol. oh and the wannabees. another special class. what the hell is wrong with asking and a little communication before you excercise your god given right to fish wherever/whenever/no matter what? i always gotta remember that world class water running through a city of a million+ is gonna see it's share of congestion, bad manners, rudeness, elitists, idiots, noobs, poachers, and general asshats. jets? well, that's another matter altogether... and another thread.
  2. oh yeah. so when we had the big earlton fire here...insurance rates for flat roofers went thru the stratosphere. 75% of the companies that used to do that type of roof bailed. so...fewer competitors, higher prices, fewer choices.
  3. sure. good advice. the former owner is awol. in the last few months i have been visited by former business partners, revenue canada, a few ugly collections people and most recently by the cops. pretty sure that's a dead avenue except to pay more lawyers. i will tear a strip off the inspectors however: -the waiver you sign when you have a home inspection relieves them of anything. the place i used were idiots. i will soon name them here. - the 2 year old roof inspection report i got a copy of from the former owner? well, i spoke to the guy in novemeber prior to purchase[roof is good, at least 5-8 years good life, etc] and now he seems to have vanished too.
  4. the story i got last night is this: whoever redid the roof last time put down the bottom membrane only but not the top cap [asphalt layer]. and the skylights are hooped, which may in fact be the problem. the skylight dude was very informative. the membrane may be saved, but still gonna cost a small fortune to install the new top cap layer and new skylights.
  5. my home of 6 months has a very low pitch roof that has an edpm membrane [or something like that] on it. it had some odd flashing details that didn't quite make sense to me [and i wanted to get addressed] but the purchase came along with a 2009 inspection report that said the roof was still solid. well, i have a significant leak now [so much for inspections] and am getting quotes from contractors for 'repair' or replacement ranging from $16-50k. yes. fifty thousand dollars. like, but a real nice new vehicle and park it on your roof and never use it. my suggested options have ranged from 'start over' to 'the original install was a 2 part edpm system and they only put the bottom layer on'. i've seen similar house roofs in town with everything shingles to tar/gravel to edpm, but have been told shingles 'not a wise choice' and so on. so, i need some good expert advice and guidance. like, yesterday. anyone out there help me decide what gauge of shotgun to put in my mouth?
  6. i'm in the market for a shitty obsolete z...
  7. hey. been fighting with a bathr. sink install. lost the battle for the third and final time tonight, along with my sense of humour. i'm not gonna try again, have better things to do with my evenings than watch water leaks, have enough of them from my roof thanks. so, yeah, any pros out there want to install a faucet and tailpipe so it don't leak, that would be great.
  8. oh, and some of them have nice reels.
  9. own a drift boat. been out on a jetboat 'a few times'. they are both excellent, but offer different things. i have run into ***hat driftboaters and powerboaters. and tubers. i think it would be difficult to make powerboats off limits, but i'd say a speed limit, establishing some approach limits, some enforcement of laws, patrolling, visibility, education for newbie owners by appropriate agencies would be of some benefit? dfo is stretched pretty thin on the prairies though...

    Dirty Broon

from the outing saturday with buddy wassisname and the udderfellow, the one with the boat that goes. we did very well in the morning considering the water clarity. nymphs worked. the knee held up. company very good. rum tasty. weather nice, finally. among the victims i landed my first ever bow river bully. a nice clean 18" male. very cool. no pics sorry. not allowed to post pix of bullies that ain't pushin 27", i think i saw that rule posted here. n e ways... i landed this fellow too.
  12. where the hell are the bids from the mouthpieces & self proclaimed experts like names deleted to protect the innocent that troll this site alll the time and stir things up? nothing? thought so...
  13. #999. there is no cure for stupid.
  14. many many good sippin rums out there. how much dough you got? i would suggest a few in this thread. argueably up to personal preference but i'll list some that are fairly readily available, and middle/upper price range: zaya. diplimatico. el dorado 15 yr old. ron zacapa. flor de cana 12. but i have a better idea. let's go to ayr's house. and we can help him decide which one is best.
  15. can i take you up on that too? am in the same boat...looking for a used starter setup i can work with, primarily swingin for steelies. n e one know is is there gonna be a spring clave? i was told that's the opportune time to try a bunch a figure out what suits best.
  16. sweet! really having trouble deciding which picture looks more inviting... not a fan of the golds. find it's sometimes like drinkin rose wine.
  17. i...ah...talked to a guy at the ff show who did that last year. let's just say he would never deal with them directly again. woulda gone private as it's much more wysiwyg. no 'broken promises'. take that for what it's worth. nothing gainst hyde personally.
  18. at a bar last night i met this really attractive woman wearing a maple leafs jersey i walked up to her and said 'hi, my name is three goal lead'. she told me to get lost. weird. i was thinking an attractive woman wearing a leafs jersey would for sure blow a three goal lead.
