I really liked your GAS 6120 and also my Meiser 1306-S. But the big surprise this year was the 6-piece Zpey Instinct 13.3 foot #8/9. Really, really liked it so much that I just ordered the Zpey Z1 switch 10 foot #4. It will be my first switch and was bought because my ACR 12 foot #3 (spey) is a bit heavy for anything under 20 inches.

I just bought the Eberlestock JP9 Blue widow for the same reason. It will convert from a 36 L daypack to a 77 multiple day pack. And if you add one of the duffels it will extend well over 120 L. I liked the mesh what was designed for transporting meat, but will be nice for wet waders and shoes. Also the scabbard can hold some of my rods. My first Bow river brown, caught at Fish Creek in September while czech nymphing with a 10 feet #4. Not measured, but a guestimated lenght of 24 inch.

Casting to a big riser, everything is perfect, the cast, the way the fly is approaching the zone. You see the big fish turn from the bottom and slowly rising to intercept the fly. And then, just before the big one is ready to eat your fly, a little fingerling beats him to it.

I have some problems with the PM functionality. Yesterday and today I sent some PM's but for some reason they are not appearing in the sent items. How do I know if they are really sent or are they just going to the big black hole??? Anybody else got this problem?

In exactly three weeks (sept. 19) we (Klaas, Noud and myself) will be landing in Calgary. We will pick up the RV, do some shopping, get the licenses and head to Nature’s Hideaway. We wouild like to fish the Bow on Tuesday and Wednesday, hunting for the big boys, with the troutspey or the dry fly. So if you would like to join us/show us around, please let us know. Just to make it better, the beer is on us. After almost ten years on the board, it would be nice to meet some of you guys in person. We are not familiair with the Bow, I always fished the smaller streams when visiting the area. On Thursday we will be heading to the Livingston/Highwood, where we are planning to stay at the Falls. But all options are open. Hopefully I can get Noud and Klaas into some Cutthroat and/or Bull. Depending on the fishing, we will head to the Crow on Friday or Saturday. Sunday we will be driving to Yellowstone.

If you can schedule it the weekend of september 25 and 26, three more Dutchies will attend.

While the 40+ is a nice line for speycasting, it is not suited for bunny flies. The fronttaper is to fine to do that. You would be better of with a line with a heavier tip.
