  1. Remember in the 70's that McDonald's had characters for everything? Like Hamburglar, Grimace, Mayor McCheese etc. That last burbot pic reminds me of Mayor McCheese. Same head, but waaaaay nastier goatee.
  2. That's why you can't catch any fish Hawkeye, yer always thinkin' about boobs. Just kiddin' man.
  3. I bet I could win a ham-hoc & black-eyed pea eating contest in Texas. I could also invent a 'Texas Chilli' hand warmer for we canucks to put Texas chilli in our gloves while ice-fishing & make millions.
  4. Lone, all this time I thought we were friends. You could have at least given me Mel Gibson or something. I'm never taking you to the secret Burbot hole ever.
  5. You'll only catch a burbot if I show you the secret technique. Also, GPS co-ordinates for the secret spot are on sale this week.
  6. Tiger Williams is Tiger Woods Dad, just to clear this up.
  7. How'd those suckers taste? Or did you get them mounted?
  8. Greasy nose syndrome. I've seen it before. Good link Terry. I always use the behind the knees trick & it's always worked.........so far.
  9. I saw her going counter at first, then got the trick to change to clockwise. Wierd, you'd argue no end that you were right either way, until you saw it the other way. She's so hot, I'm still watching her.
  10. I agree totally - I was not aware that you were primarily roll casting when this occurred. I would think this to be the primary cause.
  11. Easy,if it works, name it the 'Glenbow Special'. If it doesn't, name it 'Rubbish Fly'. See? Easy. Mwuahaaha
  12. I broke my TLS 4wt this year by setting the hook on what I assume was the bottom. It broke right above the cork. I couldn't believe it. I used my 5wt as backup until I got it back, but it makes me wonder if there's something up with the TLS rods? I can't believe you broke 3 times, that's crazy. I assume you are not overly hard on gear as you would likely not have a TLS in the first place if you were, but I am not the most gentle with my gear & I have not had bad luck except with my TLS. Wierd. Try buying a TFO 6wt as a back-up & fish with it. If it breaks too, you still have warrranty & a TLS to fish with. You shouldn't be breaking a 6wt with any regularity at all unless they are flawed or you are a monster with your rod!
  13. I'll sell you my copies for $600 each. You save $150! Act now.......... That must be some kind of mistake.
  14. Ditto on everything by Jim McLennan, and why not read Barry Mitchell's Forestry Trunk Road book too? Tons of good info & fun read too.
  15. Seems somewhat possible to me, although I suspect your batch of tippet more. Try using your TFO again with the same tippet as on the Sage & see what happens, then you'll likely know for sure.
  16. I spin-fished it years ago and it was fun, although there's about a squillion 10-12" fish (rainbows). I think that most bait guys do well on the N end of the lake. I drove by it lots this summer, and on some evenings the water was absolutely boiling with rises. I would just fish it anywhere with leeches or nymphs or chronies under an indie & you'll probably get into fish. Good luck, and sorry for lack of info.
  17. Clive, You just made me choke on my coffee! That's too funny, I might make that the wallpaper on my computer. Brewingup, I was thinking more Pirece Brosnan, but George will suffice (& thanks, it beats Buster Poindexter for sure) Hawg, good luck on getting that sucker. You are obviously not as lucky as me, so you will no doubt be stuck with those nasty chrome fish.
  18. Clive, Most stunning photos. Those rainbow pics are very very cool. You have a gift for capturing images, and catching beeautiful fish too. I, on the other hand, have a gift for catching Burbot. Lucky me.
  19. A Whitie End of day.......... One of the nicest days I've had.
  20. A Nice Cutty
  21. Got out on Ghost a bit today with some friends (& met Hawkeye from the board). We had an awesome day & landed about 50 fish between us. It was really an excellent day with good friends, and the fish Gods smiled on us today. I hope you like the pics. Underwater shots are a school of whities
  22. I caught this amazing specimen today on the Spey rod on a Streamer in Ghost Lake. I sight fished him in about 12 feet of water - I saw the presentation, the take, and the fight all the way to the net. An amazing experience. Enjoy! He's not gonna win any beauty contests, but I bet I could qualify for a "Craziest Catch On A Spey Rod" Award or something!
  23. RIght on! Good job on getting some jack on the fly! Check Dryfly's website for more info & tips.
  24. Awesome pics. Looks like a helluva season.
