Man, looks like I should have turned right instead of left when I went fishing this morning!!!!! That is just amazing! I already told my wife we are going for a boat ride tomorrow. She is very happy to spend time with her husband, even if he is catching stupidly big fish. By the way, I still say it is unusually warm today!

Forgot one: I had the opportunity to watch several people (friends and family) catch their first trout on a fly rod this year. Some of the most fun I've ever had. I need to make sure I take someone new every year.

Did someone say sharks? I can never pass up the opportunity to post these pics. Maybe my funnest day of fishing ever. I also echo iceman. If you have the time, don't mess with the park. Get to the coast and chase reds or go offshore for some sharks or reef fish. Nothing but fun.

Fishing with new people is the best, wish I could have done it more Fishing with old friends is the best, wish I could have done it more Fishing by yourself is the best, I got to do that lots. I love fishing with nymphs, dries, and streamers. I'm getting better at nymphs but still mostly suck at dries and streamers. I like to fight fish too much to switch from what is working, and fishing with dries, or at least setting the hook with dries, takes a confidence that I have not come close to figuring out. Like almost all activities, the more you do it, the more you learn, and the more you figure out you really don't know anything. This year I've really learned how little I know. Can't wait to figure out how much more I really don't know.

Interesting. But correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think any of these have electoral college votes? I voted from Canada, which is funny to me. It's also VERY funny to me that Canada voted 89% Obama and 11% McCain, and yet just elected a minority conservative gov. Wish I could see Alberta's numbers. Seems you want a Conservative in Canada and not so much in the US. Interesting. What this shows is the utter backlash against the Republican administration, which is more than understandable. It also shows how good a job Obama did of painting McCain as Bush Jr (which he isn't) and how utterly poor McCain's campaign really was, most notably his asinine pick in VP. I think John McCain is a very good man who sold his soul more than a little bit to the conservative wing of the Rep. party in order to get nominated-which guaranteed he had no chance of being elected. I wonder that if the upper reaches of the Republican Party knew they had no chance and let him be thrown to the wolves. It's not like he is one of their own. They can lick their wounds over the next 4 yrs and roll out Sarah (a more polished version of) in 2012. Obama is almost guaranteed to have a poor approval rating as he is going to take over a country in turmoil. If he can turn it around, he'll be elected King in 4 yrs!!

From what I understand, the bass fishing in the park is very good. There is also world class redfish fishing about 1.5 hrs away. LK2 can tell you all about it!
