  1. I know troutfitters has a few TCR's in stock and for sale (still pricey$). I know they have a 5wt, but not sure if they have what you're looking for.

argh. I can't tell if you made my day or ruined it. beauty brookies! Nice photoshop skills too changing the background for that 1 fish you caught j/k
  3. now I have a good excuse to buy fireworks! and cigars! thanks iceman ;0)
  4. The Elbow was really muddy today. How long does it usually take for the bow / elbow to clear up after rain like this?
  5. I just got back from Tofino. I spoke with a former guide while I was there and he recommended Tonquin Park Beack. Just drive past the hospital. Turn right at the kids park and follow the signs. You can fish from 2 separate points (both to your right after you follow the path to the beach) for coho. I didn't get to fish for long (only an hour) but I saw quite a few rising while I was there. fish the channels between the point and the rocks on the first point. The second point has an eddy that forms when the tide goes out that is pretty good too. The guide I spoke with said it's one of his favourite spots. It's absolutely beautiful there even if you don't catch anything. I have heard that Grice bay is good too but didn't get a chance to try it. Good Luck! here's a couple tonquin pics: http://s214.photobucket.com/albums/cc189/b...nt=IMG_0173.jpg http://s214.photobucket.com/albums/cc189/b...nt=IMG_0184.jpg
  6. yes they are tastey! My greek gramma used to cook em up old country style. Sorry can't help you with the recipe but DonniM's advice is sure to work. Very tasty. I remember eatin the tail like a potato chip and chewin on the eyeballs to boot. Greeks don't waste anything. Don't think i'm as brave now as I was when I was 6.
  7. i'm not sure if this is 100% legit, but looks like we'll know either way by friday this week: http://hometown.aol.com/antlanara/images/hairy%20man.jpg oops. sorry wrong photo. here's the real deal. no jokes this time: http://www.inquisitr.com/2357/has-bigfoot-been-found/ It may be Birchy's moment of triumph!
  8. don't believe 'them'. sounds like you might have done some damage to your computer, but your harddrive might be fine, regardless of what 'they' tell you - based on experience (i've been told to chuck a 3000$ laptop - put the motherboard through the dishwasher and it was fine) Is it a laptop? if so, go buy this: http://www.memoryexpress.com/Products/PID-MX21195(ME).aspx take your laptop harddrive out, put it in this enclusure and plug it into another computer like you would an external drive. grab your pictures. If that doesn't work, you might be able to try a data recovery utility. PM me if you need some advice on what to use.
  9. I have the same problem. Check out: http://www.pawsperouspets.com/ Also google victoria bc pet friendly accomodation should bring up a few more to check out

  15. Lynn, before you drop $... In addition to above suggestions: Have you changed the default wireless network name? Have you secured your wireless network? I would do the above as well as possibly changing the wireless channel (frequency). In my experience doing the above will fix most of your connection issues. And if not, then maybe it's time to get a linksys. peter

  21. bah. that will take me 2 bathroom visits, maybe 3 tops, to finish. can't wait. sounds like it will be a 'motivational read' to boot, if you know what i mean.
  22. Looks to me like he just retreived a half eaten hot dog he dropped in the water, especially by that smile on his face ;0)
  23. this board is great. especially for us who have 18 kids and a 9-5 job, not to mention mortage, car payment, ... you get the picture. I get to learn from others experience and imagine myself out there when I can't be. Not to mention I get to bill time for surfing this site all day. so in a way I make part of my living from fishing! K, i feel a bit better now.
  24. what colors are on the chironomid Glen? Is that black or brown? And where did you say that was again?
  25. Oh, and maybe a brew or 2.
