  1. You likely won't find the Straggle here in Canada. If you want the real thing, you would need to make a mail order. The tri-lobal hackle is pretty cool stuff, but the cactus chenille is the closest to Straggle you will find here.
  2. We have one setup at flyangler - http://flyangler.ca/index.php?option=com_f...s&Itemid=42
  3. Sure... but sooner is better. Any 12 flies are acceptable. They don't have to be all alike. It will give the winners a better spread. Nope... I removed the enforcers - I'm not sure of the criteria they use to determine who is an enforcer, so we'll go on positional scoring.
  4. We've only been able to have fur children so far....
  5. We are working out the details now, but it shouldn't be too long before we have FFC shwag available.
  6. Griffin Montans Mongoose. I've tied nearly 10,000 flies and it's still like brand new. Under 200, comes with a hard case and a couple tools. Before that it was an HMH Pro Vise, A Griffin Odyssey, Griffin Spyder, and a couple Thompsom A style cheapie to start on.
  7. It reminds me of a CDC and Elk. I'd be up for tying a few to give them a go. I haven't seen any straggle fritz being sold here in Canada yet, but I suppose that you could possibly use some thinned out Tri-Lobal hackle or trimmed down ice chenille. Looks like a killer.
  8. That is a sweet fly. I love fishing Boatmen and backswimmers in the fall. Do you weigth them or fishing them on a sink line at all? I've fished a floating boatman tied with foam on a quick sinking line and it works great.
  9. It does happen from time to time. It's a glitch in the software. It takes a fix on the server side DB to fix it. It has something to do with the PM pop-ups. I'll run a DB command to clean it up soon.
  10. Wrongs, just send me the text and Images, I'll take care of getting it posted to the site and linked up. I have a template set up for the site already.
  11. Awesome. I've got most of your pick already. Just PM me your picks when you are ready.
  12. Great pics. I love the crows.
  13. Awesome. Thanks for sending in your pics.
  14. Any more takers? Picks are due by Sept 30th.
  15. Your in. I have a few people's picks already. That's great. Send them in as soon as you can.
  16. I've caught lots from shore. You just need to be patient and you'll get a few. I don't think there are any trout in the pond, just the Grayling and a couple species of minnows. If you throw a big weighted wooly bugger, you might have some luck as well.
  17. Very nice football.
  18. Cool, it looks like we'll have a good pool of flies up for grabs.
  19. Last time out at wedge, they were slurping on tiny #24 black midges. I was also getting them on silkworms and other Chironomids. They are one of my favourite fish to target, and Wedge has some beauties stocked in it. Here is some more info on the Grayling.
  20. No minimums for each position. No Draft either, to keep things somewhat simple. Brent, I have your picks. - Thanks
  21. You will need to send me your picks and I will add them before the season starts.
  22. 1. What else will I need to purchase besides the boat? A few things. Fins to get around in the water. Waders if you don't have them already. A double action pump - 10 buck @ WM. An anchor is nice to have to keep you stationary. 2. Is this thing easy to inflate and deflate so I can pack it in my Civic? You shouldn't have any issues with a floattube. Use the double action pump and you can inflate it in about 2 minutes. 3. Is a life jacket mandatory? Advisable? I'm not sure about manditory, but it is advisable. Remember that you are going into deep water, and if something goes wrong, you want to be prepared. You can get CO2 Inflatable PFD's for a about 100 bucks. They are fairly flat until you need them and inflate with a little co2 cartridge. 4. Can you give me a ballpark figure on total cost? The tube would run anywhere between 150 - 400 depending on the quality and features you want. Fin will run about 60 bucks. Tubes are great to start out in. Have fun.
  23. password for now is flyflicker to see stats.
  24. No Cost. I'm covering the set-up fee. Thanks guys, I'll add you all.
