    Mysis Shrimp

Oh ya, there is quite a bit of the orange presenst there. If I had a light pink ostrich, I would have used that.
  6. Nice fish Lynn. 35 is just too hot. At least the streams are cool and offer some releif.
  7. I think that this is a great idea. Perhaps a community initiative could put together a well covered article. We can create a guideline as a group and publish it to the site(s). Please post your recommendations and we'll start an article.
  8. I bought some waders and boot from them last year and needed to send back the waders. The reutun is pretty good and went smoothly. I did get dinged on the Duties at the time of purchase though. It added another 90$ to the bill.
  9. No, I have not heard anything yet. Sad news.

    Mysis Shrimp

Dead drift under an indicator with a Chironomid paced retrieve. Slow slow slow.... I wouldn't personally tie a mysis with a hotspot, but it is an interesting idea. I tie most scuds with a pregnant / parasite orange hotspot.

    Fry!

Nice shots. I had an optio to play around with last year, and it was great. I'd love to get a new one.
  12. Ya, it really does sound like things are getting worse. I guess I was lucky, both my wife and I parked/worked downtown Edmonton for years and never had a break in. I did run into people freaking out on Crack on a daily basis, seen a couple people mugged, etc... I actually feel a lot safer walking downtown Calgary or Toronto than Edmonton. I hope you get your rods back. My Wife was mugged in Edmonton a couple years back. All her stuff was thrown away not far from where she was mugged (%*7#@ punk @$$ crack heads). She doesn't carry money, so they didn't get anything useful. Anyhow, people found her cards, looked us up in the phone book and called us that they found her id etc. Hopefully one of these good natured people finds your rods and gets them reutrned.
  13. Thanks again guys, the ads from that site have been blocked. If you do see more, don't hesitate to bring it to my attention.

  16. Dog Fur? About size 8? Actually I think selling a product with dog fur may be aginst eBay policy.
  17. Click here if the movie does not play. Another great Youtube Video. Tied by Lefty himself.
  18. hmm looks like some type of little dog.
  19. Wow, that is pretty sick looking. It looks like a Whitetail Doe.
  20. LMAO Yes, agreed on that point.
  21. It's something we can block. That ad in particular is server by a third party based on content. Feel free to PM me if you find any objectionable ad content. Just be sure to include the site URL it leads to so I can block it if needed, and a pic like you did helps. Thanks for pointing it out Clive.
  22. You should still be able to see them. Try refreshing your browser. They are at the bottom of the page. http://www.cpanel55.gzo.com/~flycal/board/...hp?showforum=15 http://www.cpanel55.gzo.com/~flycal/board/...hp?showforum=18
  23. The other fly I would try, just because I have a lot of success with it, is a low wing CDC & Elk. Don't dress it at all, and fish it on Fluorocarbon if you have it. It should sit an inch or so below the surface. Change this up with an EHC floating right on top. Based on the way they are jumping, I would agree, it sounds like midges ascending. Phil and I pumped a couple fish out there last year and found lots of Micro chartreuse Chironomids in there. Hard to imitate. One other thing that has done well at Muir for me is a heavy back swimmer. Lead under body, black rubber legs, olive chenille black crystal flash shell back. Next time you get one, give it a little shake. If it sounds like a maraca, start tying sparkle snails.
  24. A lost fish is just half as good as a landed fish. Of course there are different degrees of lost fish. 1. The taste and spit. I think a lot of these hits are on the fly, just not connecting to the hook. I know of people who cut off the bend and are purely satified with just fooling the fish to strike. 2. The take and throw. It's a solid hook up and the fish is lucky enought to lose the hook. It happens. 3. The take and snag. These ones hurt me. Esspecially weeds. These are the ones I hate to break off and avoid at all costs. Underwater branches, weeds and other FOD. 4. The take and just about land. These hurt a bit too. You have already invested a good amount of time getting to know the fish and hang out when *bang* he's gone just before you had him to hand. The good thing though in these is that you don't need to handle the fish at all. Losing a fish just makes me more exited and interested. Hawgstoppah is right. If you caught them all it wouldn't be fun. It's called fishing not catching....
  25. Don't forget about Iron Blue - it was a favourite of mine, and actually still is. I have both seasons on DVD now. I'll watch any fishing show. There are a few things that annoy me to no end though. Hosts not wearing pfd's, hosts lipping bass and holding them horizontal, fish thrown over the side releases, grab the gills and pose.... Most of it is related on how fish are handled. I do get a lot out of watching gear fishers - I get a good insite on how I can relates the techniques to a fly fishing set up.
