Swede Posted July 13, 2009 Posted July 13, 2009 Looking at purchasing a Rushton Dragon landing net. Is it worth the extra $ to go with the ghost netting vs. the nylon mesh netting? Just wondering if the clear netting spooks the fish less? Opinions or preferences appreciated. Thanks. Quote
Teck71 Posted July 13, 2009 Posted July 13, 2009 I would definatly go to the ghost netting. no real reason for me just looks damn cool. Quote
theiceman2 Posted July 13, 2009 Posted July 13, 2009 I just think it will got caught in the vest zippers less, thats the seller for me. The only downside I can see if they dont look repairable, at leaset with a traditional net you can patch a hole. Quote
CanuckCamper Posted July 13, 2009 Posted July 13, 2009 I recently purchased a Wachter net with ghost netting, I especially like that my hooks don't get stuck in the net. Quote
bloom Posted July 13, 2009 Posted July 13, 2009 Just picked up a Rushton Dragon net with standard netting. Looked at getting rubber netting but I like the traditional look better and the rubber adds noticeable weight on a big net. No regrets on my choice. Moby nets also make a good net. Quote
Tungsten Posted July 13, 2009 Posted July 13, 2009 Rubber all the way,if you fish triple rigs they come out easier and better for the fish too. Also the holes are bigger to let water threw less resistance when landing fish in flowing water. Quote
SilverDoctor Posted July 14, 2009 Posted July 14, 2009 I found with my Ghost I get less net shy fish. It tangles less in underbrush so less chance of tearing and is also great looking. Quote
Golfman09 Posted July 14, 2009 Posted July 14, 2009 I have the black rubber and have been really impressed with it in multiple fly rigs....no fouling and from the looks of things less protective slime stays with the net when the fish is released. It is heavier but I use it for the boat only at this point. I have a smaller cloth net for wading. I'm not sure about the spook factor though. my 2/3rds of a nickel. Quote
