FLIES THAT APPEAL TOO TROUT

simple and sparsely dressed, capturing only major points of the fly

durable, so fly fishers can rapidly cover feeding trout without frequent fly changes

copied with the natural insect as a guide

aimed at imitating the natural behaviour of the fly first of all

FLIES THAT APPEAL TOO FLY FISHERMAN

complicated, striving for imitation that is "exact" in human eyes

fragile, requiring a fly change when a good fish begins too rise

copied from a book or other source of patterns

aimed at imitating less important features of the natural-at the expence of behaviour
