Glenbow
Here's a pattern I stumbled across while in New Zealand - it's said to work like nothing else. I'm curious to see if it works as well here......
Brownstone
that one could catch you more than you bargain for Glen
Inconnu
I had heard they had smaller flies in New Zealand, this just confirms it!!

ladystrange
do you think it would be hard to tie? it just doesn't look like it has the oomph needed for the climax after the hook up.
Glenbow
I suppose it might be 'how' & 'when' you use it, more than the size?
cheeler
Might need to be wrapped up if it's going into foreign waters.
BillyGopher
I looked all over Calgary and no shop has a box big enough for mine. It's hard to travel abroad when your fly is so oversized.

ladystrange
Does this work on the dropper with the Viagra fly? oh no, not the viagra fly conversation again. LOL. poor firefly is still quite hurt about the whole ordeal but being that the viagra is a caddis nymph and this is a good dry. I think i will have to tie a few of both and see if it does work. SteveM
I've had one like that for as long as I can remember; I don't pull it out & use it as often as I'd like. Glen told me he fishes his right on the bottom. I can't seem to get mine that deep, so, I just bang the Hell outta the edges. I recommend fishing it with long, slow pulls at first; then, when you've got the fish's attention, go to short, quick yanks. Throw in a little side-to- side action with your rod-tip; this drives the fish crazy! One last tip: When using this fly on a river, stick to the big, deep holes. You can try fishing at the mouth(of the river), but you will get a lot of rejections. Good luck! Rev. Bob Loblaw

BillyGopher
Glen, you forgot to mention that it's a fly that you DON'T share with your buddies and certainly not with sheep. Unless you learned something else down in NZ
