RDevonshire
Caught my first crayfish in the Bow yesterday, Funny story, went to Pearce Estate to see the new developments and a swim with kids, while swimming l hear a family screaming behind me, l look back and about a 3 to 4 inch crawfish was on the rocks scaring them haha, waded over grabbed it and explained to them what it was "aka fresh water lobster" I've never seen one in Alberta till yesterday except on internet, wonder how populated they're getting? Aren't they invasive? Seen millions in Ontario just not Alberta
bcubed
They're in Nose Creek in the bajillions, so something is keeping them from taking off in the Bow, whether that's water quality or otherwise (brown trout diet?). I found one by the southland dog park ~10 years ago, and havent seen one since. They're around, just not a ton of them
toolman
Used to be lots of them down near Policeman's flats, before the flood.
Jayhad
If you do go after them remember it is prohibited to be in the possession of live crayfish in the province of Ab, and they must be killed upon capture.
jksnijders
They're definitely in the southern reservoirs fed by the Bow, 30 years ago they were non-existent.
