Inconnu
Loon outdoors makes a product that is called Stanley's Ice Off Paste. Some people use vaseline but it is a petroleum based product that creates cleaning problems of its' own. http://www.loonoutdoors.com/cleaners.html

coreyc
Thanks for the tips , I was trying to drum up an idea using some small wire and a battery to heat them, but that is way to much work when there is a paste that would take 1 min to apply. bloom
There really is no perfect solution. The pastes etc work OK for a while, but you will need to keep applying it. I know of others who just keep dipping their rod in the water to melt the ice, but of course, the ice comes back. I had one day on the Crow that was so cold that the ice froze the line in the tip top...I was fairly limited to the water I could cover with only 5' of line out. Had to go back to the car as I was scared of breaking the rod tip. Try to find those days above 0, and that will greatly help your cause. SilverDoctor
I've tried Pam cooking spray on the Eye guides, or teflon gun oil, chap stick. They all work for a brief time. Now I either dip the guides in water or use my hand warmer which works the best.
