It won't do a bit of damage to your gas vehicle. worn rings will put more oil into the gas than dropping some 50:1 mix into your car/truck tank. If you are worried that much about it, put a 1/2 gallon in every fill up until you've disposed of it all.

At the end of the season I burn my unused 2 stroke oil in my vehicles as well with no ill effects. My vehicle has a 70l tank, so 2 gallons of mix is going to be further diluted by a factor of about 10, and really all that can happen is you that you may get slightly more carbon buildup in your engine than you otherwise would. If you usually fill up with regular I'd say wait until you get down to a 1/4 tank, put the mix in and top it off with premium or use a container of injector cleaner and forget about it.

would this work for gas mixed for a chainsaw as well? I have zero knowledge of small motors, but have had a gallon of chainsaw mix sitting around for a very long time, and no chainsaw.

If not a vehicle, maybe my neighbor's lawnmower?

I dump ALL my 'end of summer' fuels, mixed or straight, into the car. Been doing this for .. (jees, I can't admit to how long, people will think I'm old) Never had an issue. Just do it with a near full tank so it is well mixed. A few ounces of oil per 50ish litres is pretty minuscule.
