I've used Power-Pro and Spider Wire but now I exclusively use Beadalon wire from Micheals, Bronze in 0.38mm is my go to, 60ft spool is something like $8.

Yes,

I have used it and I use it regularly depending on which pattern and how it is designed move in the water. I use a huge tangled mess of green braid I pulled out of the Bow 6-7 years ago. If I want a stiff fly I use wire.

Stiff, as in doesn't fold back on itself? ha. Redbeard, Don't bother with braid. There articulation is where you get your movement from- Looping wire through the eyelet of the next shank or trailer hook provides enough "release" to generate more than enough movement. I believe Jayhad can be quoted belly aching about triple articulated dungeons folding back on themselves and beads "doing nothing." braid/backing is far too limp. perhaps this is his problem?

I use dacron, which is essentially the same. I have tried braided line, and it works fine. As good a choice as any material for articulated streamers.
