Thanks Nick, the hackle is white saddle dyed with Cool Aid. these wher#10's if I remember correctly. They were for a guy back east chasing Atlantic's on the Miramichi. For the Bow I would go with #6es.

Black Doc Spratley

Looks super buggy, what is a Doc Spratley, what do you target with them? I've never used one, they've been around as long as I have. Ive just never used one.

I've always fond it to be an excellent lake pattern for Rainbows. The fly is an old classic and comes in a variety of body colors. red and green are also excellent. I usually fish it deep with a hand twist retreve.

Excellent flies on the swing too for trout.

Ever used the bead as part of the prop? Just something else to try if you haven't done it already. Try some in black too, (since it's the only color that works for steelhead 😬)

Thanks for the replies guys, black and blue, and purple versions are in the works.

Here are a couple I hope to try on the swing this winter, let me know what you guys think.
