trailhead Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 I would think that this heavy rainfall that is forecast, and actually happening as I look out my window, should have some impact on the water levels and temperatures. I took a quick trip to the upper reaches of the Elbow and the water temps were surprisingly low. I had 45F on my thermometer, and the fish were acting that way too. Quote
Sean84 Posted August 21, 2015 Posted August 21, 2015 With the amount of rain and cooler temps over the last week in SW alberta im suprised they havent lifted the ban, But I guess the knee jerk reaction needs to last a while to make it look like it was worth it. They should have closed the rivers way before they did. Quote
FraserN Posted August 21, 2015 Posted August 21, 2015 According to mywildalberta, the fishing closures are over as of today, AUGUST 21, except on the St. Marys river below the reservoir. Is this information true? Quote
SilverDoctor Posted August 21, 2015 Posted August 21, 2015 The fishing regulation page still lists the closures. Nothing yet about openings. Hope they update http://www.albertaregulations.ca/fishingregs/ Quote
