First Pike On The Bow

Fishing last Tuesday by Police and was surprised to find this toothy beast on the end of my stone fly nymph.

Hurray for firsts! Caught my first pike on the Bow a week ago also at police (not trying to steal your thunder!):

 

 

I've been talking to quite a few seasoned Bow anglers and they know that pike like these are in the river, just not used to seeing them this far upstream.

PS: Is that fish missing an eye?

Lots of pike come out of Pine Creek, which flows in just upstream of Policemens. Always lots of pike in that area

i've caught them right up to bearspaw damn over the last few years

My buddy caught one on the bow last year that could swallow a young child I think I posted a pic of it last year

TL, I think it was on Bow Conditions 2013 if I recall, and yes it could.

Im new to fly fishing...thought bow river is closed until June 1?

Read the regulations. Parts are open all year and parts have closed time. You don't want the fish boys to see you fishing closed water.
