Hunting is just like finding those big browns sipping dries. Move carefully and watch everything, but you often should pay attention to wind direction. You already know how to hunt down walleye in a lake...you are a PRO at that already. Sometimes you get great surprises when hunting...like a chance at something unique (color mutant pheasant)

Hey shred did you get a nice Mule buck?

Nah, I helped my bud get his nice 4x5. I'm up next year. Saw some real crankers out there, more mature bucks then we've ever seen the area we hunt.

How's yours?

Shred, my buck was OK. Should have been more patient but a really neat opportunity arose to take him in his bed over-looking 3 cliffs. I made a good shot and harvested a decent buck. It would be wrong to complain when you get blessed

Lornce, there is one more in the freezer for you. I think I'll keep the mutant and try to make some new fly inventions this winter. Might get out for a few more late season roosters before the month ends

Good job!! It's hard to pass up a perfect opportunity.

I ended up with a fine whitetail while looking for a bull moose. He has a few broken tines which subtracts from his inches but adds in his character.
