Get a shipping estimate before you commit. I posted my 4119 on Speypages as well and had guys in Lithuania and Ontario interested. Because of the length of the tube, Canada Post wouldn't ship it overseas at all and quoted $30 to Ontario.

http://bloodknot.net/2009/11/these-flies-have-eyes/ Got a good laugh out of this. I've seen some of these guys in the local shops.

If someone prefers fishing dry flies or even fishes only dry flies it doesn't make them an "elitist". If they disparage those who fish other methods, then it does. Once the bugs are on the water and the fish start rising, I will put away my nymphs until fall. I get more satisfaction out of finding rising fish, figuring out what they're eating (masking hatches can be a bitch), then placing my fly in front of one than I do watching a bobber. But that's just my personal preference and I don't fault anyone for fishing however they choose. I guess it isn't just about the numbers for me - if it were there are more effective means of catching fish than fly fishing. Having said that, I was out yesterday and today, and last weekend, and the weekend before that, etc. nymphing. Don nailed the whole "pro" thing. Does anyone on here actually get paid to fish? And I don't think getting paid to guide is quite the same thing. Think Bass Pro tour guys. Expert would make more sense, but then we'd just have threads asking what qualifies someone as an expert...

Doesn't sound like he has much of a conscience, so it'll have to be karma.

I like the size 2 barbless gammies on mine. I find if they're smaller that I can't get the wire through the hook eye.

Saw this in a magazine and thought it looked interesting. If the bags are durable, the prices are pretty good when compared to most of the other waterproof bags out there. http://www.recycledwaders.com/

I've tried telling Americans the part about getting most of their oil from us and they didn't believe me. Another good one is that the southern-most point of Canada is further south than the northern border of California.

A cheater on an 11'6" rod is unnecessary. A lot of guys aren't even using cheaters on longer (13'-14') rods with compact skagit or skagit flight heads. If you're blowing your anchor, slow your cast down before messing with cheaters.

Ha! Honestly, I only ever caught one fish on it and it was a rainbow. Sounds like user error to me

Are you looking for a car unit or a handheld? I just got back from LA this morning and used my Garmin Nuvi in the rental car with no issues at all. Check out Amazon - they have a list of all the Garmin units and the features on each one.

Luckily my dog has never shown even the slightest bit of interest in any of my tying materials, but if he had destroyed anything of a friend's or neighbour's I would not hesitate to pay for replacement regardless of what it was. Even if I couldn't afford the full replacement value on the spot I'd offer to pay what I could until the replacement value was met. As a dog owner you're responsible for your dog's actions.

Totally agree with Doc. There are lots of good choices, the question is finding a good choice for you and the best way to do that is to try out as many rod/line combinations as you can.

Exactly my feeling on it. On rivers around here if you know the hatches and the other aquatic life (leeches, baitfish, etc) you have a place to start in your fly selection. For me, using that knowledge as a starting point and finding a fly that works is part of the satisfaction I get from catching a fish. Also, how often do you find a fly stops working after a while because the fish have stopped feeding on one thing and moved on to another? A stomach pump might tell you what they were eating half an hour ago but not necessarily right now.

Thought this was a great read from Buster Wants to Fish - That Sounds Great but, How Will it Effect My Fishing? (warning, contains some of George Carlin's Seven Words)

I think a few Scandinavians might disagree with you on that one...

Collections & Credit Rating

If they had underpaid him ~$220 would he let it go because it's such a silly little thing and it's not their fault they underpaid? -
Frenchcreek on here might have a GPS line that you could try out. Might want to try sending him a pm.

Yeah, that's exactly where they came from. 11/0 Japanese seed beads or something like that. Had to rip half the label off to open the vial so I'm not 100% sure that's what they're called. The hole in them is pretty small so if you're tying in the antron like I did you need to be very minimal on thread wraps. I used 12/0 Giorgio Bennecchi thread with one base layer and one layer over the antron and I still had trouble sliding the bead back over it.

Older versions of iPhoto, yes. The latest version makes your iPhoto Library into one file that isn't accessible through the Finder. Lethfisher nailed it - drag the photos you want to upload from iPhoto to your desktop then upload them to Photobucket from there. If you're going to be uploading from iPhoto to Photobucket a lot, you might want to look into a plug-in like this one: http://picturesync.net/ Also, check out the Facebook Exporter for iPhoto: http://developers.facebook.com/iphoto/ Personally, I pay for a MobileMe account that lets me upload pics directly from iPhoto to a gallery along with a bunch of other stuff. No need to bother with Photobucket, Flickr, etc.

Interesting video. Here's one for bamboo rods from the same show. Click here if the movie does not play.

I generally just make my stingers long enough so my materials don't foul on the hook. Usually ends up being an inch or a bit longer off a 4xl streamer hook shank.

Fish Tales carries Cloudveil. If they don't normally stock them I'm sure they could probably special order a pair.

Backup Files For Computer
headscan replied to fish4trout's topic in General Chat - Not Fishing Related (NFR)
Keep in mind if you're going to keep the backup drive connected to the computer all the time that files stored on it could be affected by any virus you get as well. Get good antivirus software and keep it up to date.
