  1. I think you should have them bronzed, mounted on a nice base, then placed next to the Bow River in one of the cities nicer parks in order to signify the importance of fly fishing to many Calgarians. You can then bill the City a half a million dollars for your work.
  2. Iran sounds like it would meet most of your requirements.

  4. Is this TV in the bedroom perhaps?
  5. Ya you're right, he's had enough time to come up with excuses. By now I'm sure it would all be just lies. (Tongue-in-cheek - again......)
  6. No, not a good idea. He needs to explain his side of the story first. We all know he's keeping tabs on this thread.
  7. Ya I meant to apologize for my rather lengthy launch that day. Next time I'll bring my smaller craft: http://www.wimp.com/boatramp/
  8. I've made my popcorn so where's the video?
  9. When's the garage sale???
  10. You would think when they build and manage a dam the reservoir would not be required to be kept at a full level going into the winter months. They seem to like to ride the full line on the Red Deer. Probably makes for the best jet boating conditions. http://www.environment.alberta.ca/apps/basins/DisplayData.aspx?Type=Figure&BasinID=7&DataType=3&StationID=RDICRES
  11. I still think the most appropriate response to this whole experience would be this. Anyone up for a leisurely paddle?
  12. Good choice. People have to remember that a lot of guides work freelance and are not necessarily permanently employed by fly shops. (Although if they are contracted out by a fly shop they should not be acting in any manner that may harm the reputation of the company.)
  13. I tried but couldn't find it.
  14. Would you happen to know the contact name from Parks that looked into this? Maybe they would be interested in the emails I have that could shed a lot of light on their investigation.
  15. Here's a perfect example of privatization gone awry. http://parklandinstitute.ca/research/summary/delivery_matters3/
  16. I would prefer not to have my Tax Payer Funded Provincial Park space being rented out by private individuals, whether they work at or manage the sites or not.
  17. or mortician............ just sayin
  18. I have since been told it is the camp host that is trying to rent out the trailer. Needless to say I am going to be putting the heat to maximum, whether this is legal or not. I'm tired of our Provincial Government giving away our resources and assets to those who feel they can do whatever they want with them. Privatization in this Province is costing the taxpayers a hell of a lot more than anyone ever expected.
  19. Maybe someone could find out if this guy has his unit parked at Dutch Creek and is renting it on my tax payers dime. I already called him. He says he doesn't have it parked there although his ad states he does. I told him why I was calling, to inquire about what he was doing... 20. I have nothing to contribute....................but
  21. Even though a generator may be rated for x watts the inrush current of some appliances/devices when turned on can exceed the generator wattage rating by several multiples. Check this out: http://www.yamaha-motor.com/outdoor/generator/sizing.aspx
  22. I know nothing about the Champion Gen's but if you have AC in the trailer you will probably want to go with a higher wattage. Start-up draw with a typical RV AC unit (I think most are 13,500btu) will be a problem with 2000w. RV people I talked to said to go with a Yamaha or Honda for least troubles and long term ownership. Resell value is also good. I went with a Yamaha 2400i and have no problems with any appliances or AC. Edit - you may want to watch this video. They appear to be the same generator as the Champion 2000w from Costco.ca
  23. I am sickened by the thought that the trophy hunting of Gophers is allowed in the Great Gopher Fields of Alberta. How is this possible when the majority of Albertan's find the killing of Gophers for Sport and Trophies abhorrent and immoral? The Gopher, an Alberta icon, is not a traditional food hunt, regulations don't even require hunters to remove the flesh from the site, isn't this is wasteful use of wildlife? Recently the First Nations people announced that they oppose Trophy Gopher Hunting in their traditional territories while the Alberta government insists on allowing Gophers to be hunted for sport, these Gophers may even carry the "Spirit Gopher" gene. The future of the tourism economy in Alberta is clearly in Gopher-based tourism and not in killing Gophers for sport trophies. Statistics show that Gopher viewing generates far more revenue for the Alberta economy than trophy Gopher killing, not to mention the optics of "Sunny Alberta" being a killer’s paradise.I think Alberta needs to implement a complete ban on trophy Gopher hunting. ...and to answer the OP's question, kick em in the nuts and run.
  24. And if you run into a bear in Quebec, Bonjour ours. Mexico, hola soportar. Russia, Привет несут.
