  1. Nothing like having Greenpeace on the Province's side actively promoting our tourism industry. http://travellingalberta.com/ http://www.greenpeace.org/international/ne...erta-com-280608
  2. I had a discussion with some of the locals last night. The duck was born on the lake 3 years ago. It was the only oddity of the newborns and was hand fed by one of the residents for the first year. It has been back to the same pond every year since. (Why not when you get fed a loaf of bread every night?) A couple of the residents say it is a leucistic (reduced pigmentation) Mallard duck.
  3. As of the June 20 stocking report there are 35 stocked lakes with triploids in Alberta. http://www.mywildalberta.com/documents/2008Stocking.pdf Great job on the video.
  4. This Mom was photographed down at the local pond. I would say it is a white Mallard based on the features and offspring. Anyone know if these are somewhat common or an unusual find? A local resident mentioned Alberta Environment has been to the pond to look at the duck.

  6. And with that said I suggest you do exactly that at the Carseland store next time your by it. The response you get should answer a few questions.
  7. Letterman's "Top 10 Signs You've Gone to a Bad Chiropractor" 10. When you walk, you make a wacky accordion sound. 9. Keeps saying, "A spine is like a box of chocolates." 8. Repeatedly asks, "You a cop? You sure you aint' no cop?" 7. Over and over, you hear crunching sounds followed by, "Uh-oh." 6. There's a two-drink minimum. 5. At end of session, lies down on the table and says, "My turn!" 4. He was nowhere near Woodstock and yet he's covered with mud. 3. Rushes in late to your appointment still wearing his Burger King uniform. 2. Hints that for an extra $50, he'll "straighten" something else. 1. You're fully clothed and he's naked. Sorry Drew, I couldn't resist.
  8. Here are three different versions for all you die hards. Download them fast, you never know when the anthem police will seize them. Starting in 2000 Late 90s Early 90s Anybody have any older ones?
  9. I know I'll miss it about as much as Front Page Challenge and Pierre Burton.
  10. Isn't 50000 fish for the size of Police a little much for a delayed harvest lake? I have never been to Police but my maps show it as being approximately 1300m * 600m. Is this correct?
  11. How about triploid Brookies into two lakes in PP2? Even odder.

  13. Was that thing made by Trojan?
  14. Lets look at it this way: For argument sakes lets say the average Canadian spends 2 weeks in Mexico. With a Million vacationers a year this would equate to 14 million vacation days. In Calgary we could assume they spend 365 - 14 days a year vacation = 351 days spent in Calgary or 351 million non vacation days. So if 2 people get killed in Mexico in a year this is 1 death per 7 million vacation days. In 2004 Calgary had a murder rate of 1.9 per 100,000 people, or 19 per million. If 19 people get killed in Calgary this is 1 death per 18.4 million non vacation days. I'm not saying my calculations are correct just that the murder rates really need to be calculated in this manner.
  15. Here you go: http://www.mytelus.com/ncp_news/article.en...ticleID=2924519 Police say they have no motives in the killing but they're holding an American in custody who claims to have witnessed the shooting. The girlfriend who was shot is being "protected". See you only go to jail in Mexico if you do nothing wrong.
  16. Sure. It's really because your out ripping up Alberta with that fancy quad of yours.
  17. Hmmmm, exactly 14 days since your last post. Did you just get released from the etiquette class?
  18. Come on Clive those are Polar bears with their Tuxedo's on. Too funny. It will be interesting to see how long the video stays up.
  19. I have a 20hp from 1986 with about 5 hours on it. It has more wear and tear on it from the sun than it does from running. It will be in my garage 30 years from now with probably the same number of hour on it. There's a lot less 2 strokes on the lakes than there were 10 years ago. I, like you, would be P'oed if they just up and said no more 2 strokes.
  20. This is for anyone getting a HDMI cable. Test results showed no difference between the $12 "Cheapy" and the $262 "Monster". I love how the Future Shop guy in the video says "I know people that are more ah, ah, proud of the products they have hooking up their TV than their TV's themselves. It's a product that people can be really proud of owning." http://www.cbc.ca/marketplace/2008/02/20/packing_the_deal/ The story video. http://www.cbc.ca/mrl3/8752/marketplace/packing_the_deal.wmv And yes, I believe everything CBC says and does, especially if Wendy Mesley says it.
  21. I can't see a ban taking place. With the tougher emission regulations for companies that manufacture engines that are sold in Canada nowadays and the older 2 strokes becoming obsolete, I can't see the government pressing harder. You never know though.
  22. Any decade that starts off with a tune like Devo's Whip It has to be good. First time I heard this tune was the night one of my buddies got thrown through a 10*20 window. Serves us rockers right for going to the local punk bar.
  23. Osoyoos Lake in BC is probably the closest you'll get.
  24. They must have pled out as there is no way this could have gone to trial that fast.
