  2. If only a handful of streams existed in Canada with Whites in them you can bet your ass every Tom, Dick and Harry would want to catch one. Don't be ashamed at catching them. The opposition to catching them is strictly a Calgarian thing. Since their river is full of Bows and Browns they feel it is necessary to lower the Whites to a level that is undeserving. This is a very common elitist attitude you will find in most Calgarian fly fisherman, especially the ones that only use one fly. Why won't they admit it? Because Whites are easily caught while using a San Juan Worm which is essentially a form of bait fishing so if they admit to catching a Whitey they are admitting to bait fishing. So in other words Calgarians will not admit to catching whites because they are really only bait fisherman in disguise. I'm waiting for the day one of those spey freaks actually admits to catching one using one of those fruit loop rods. Troll out. I love freedom of speech.

    Sorry To Hear

A fair chunk of these posts in question are from people sitting behind their keyboards doing nothing more than trying to get a rise from people. They are deliberate in their approach and will repeat the same nonsense over and over in the same thread just to maintain the troll. The sad part about it is they're succeeding in getting the rise they're looking for. People have to learn to recognize this for what it is. If you respond to a troll in a negative way you will draw in others and in no time have a crap fling going. The thread topic then becomes unimportant because the conversation is now more about egos than it is about the original topic. Then the spectators join in and pick sides. There are other ways of dealing with this crap that doesn't have to involve threats, put downs or name calling. What blows me away is the fact that some of the seasoned members fell for this crap. I think the next crap fling that starts Dave should sell tickets to. Maybe the proceed could go to Streamwatch.
  4. May I suggest you teach this "higher standard" to your spell checker. Definitely one of your best lines yet.
  5. "Ahh! The old fishing hole... so peaceful and relaxing. Doesn't even matter if I catch a single fish -- ah! Come on you stupid fish, take the bait! Don't make me come down there!" - Homer Simpson
  6. This is what people that are afraid of bears do. Do you think the guy pulling in the fish managed to safely release it on shore?
  7. Bear spray is nonsense, all you have to do is threaten them with the trampoline treatment and they'll run like hell.
  8. The hell with this, I'm moving to bear country to get out of the same city as Dube.
  9. How do you know we all didn't get sucked into a black hole last night and we are now living in a different dimension?
  10. The Large Hadron Collider experiment. Within 7 hours of this post you may being sucked into a giant black hole. Some people are fearing that the experiment will cause unstable black holes that could ‘eat’ the planet from within. Meet Evans the Atom, who will end the world on Wednesday. He reminds me of the kid who tried blowing up the bathroom in my junior high school. I just hope if we get sucked into a black hole I get to meet some Sasquatchs inside. As for you Calgarians nothing much should change even if it does happen.
  11. I bet you still have that smile on your face today? Nice fish. Sounds like you guys had a good time.
  12. I have used the Fluke and Raytek models for my work. They can be very inaccurate if used improperly. They are more of a instrument used to show a gradient in temperature for informational purposes or a temperature differential tool than a tool one would use to accurately measure true temperature. Save yourself the money and buy a alcohol thermometer for 10 bucks.
  13. Maroons? Like Gilligan and the Ginger?
  14. You'll never be able to do this in any of the specialty shops.
  15. I was just going to ask if you would be willing to paying $600. Hell you could buy a Sage for that!

  17. The 2500 series offer a rich, round and sweet drag system with a perky adjustment knob for consistent operation. The self lubricating drive gears mean no more stopping in the middle of the pulsating action to lube up. These reels stand spankingly erect when subject to searing runs and easily endure repetitive action. The 2500 series present a hot, sweet, crisp and inviting texture yet simple straightforward operation. I think the 2560 would make a yummy match with the Z-Axis– like a dessert fresh out of the oven. Clean, well made and tasty. Sexy beyond comparison.
  18. You have to inch the loops onto the fly line a little bit at a time. The braided loops usually come with a piece of heat shrink which covers the open end of the braid. Heat has to be applied to the heat shrink very carefully. I put a piece of tin foil between the heat shrink and a lighter so as not to melt the fly line. They're available in both floating and sinking. The Cortland loops have worked well for me. They do have a tendency to hinge but so far has not posed much of an issue. http://www.firsttackle.co.uk/acatalog/Cortlandloopsy.jpg
  19. 20-50% off everything in stock. Aug 20-23rd. It is always a very worthwhile sale to go to in Edmonton. I'm sure Calgary would be no different.

  21. Absolute proof Bigfoot is a poacher.
  22. How are you downloading the pictures? If you are plugging the camera in via a USB cable you will see the camera appear under "My Computer" or in Windows Explorer (Assuming your using Windows). You then need to click on the device and enter into the file folders where the JPEG files are stored. Typically the JPEG files are in a folder with a folder such as [DCIM] then [Olympus]. Highlight them all, right click and then delete. Basically the same thing if you are removing the card from the camera and inserting the card into your computer or a card reader.
  23. I heard NASA has reconsidered any more space missions since they discovered they could doing all their testing in the void between Bertuzzi's ears.
  24. I'm not trying to start anything here but I need to let you know that kissing fish poses the possibility of irreversible psychological damage to the fish. This is a practice that must be stopped. And please, if it must be done, no tongue as this creates a completely different set of issues. I know cause I talked to my favorite fish biologist about it.
