  1. i dig the braided loops.. love doing what headscan does to too some of my sinking lines but either of those two options are the only ways i attach leaders too my fly lines
  2. that vid creeps me out.. seen i tposted a few times on this board and others.. never ever wear glasses and i wana pick up a pair of clear ones for after dark.....
  3. sck with the 3 and the 6wt dude its the feeshin rods u will need too target the feesh u fish most often.. if u find that u may be going steelie fishing salmon fishing or down south in the flats go pick up something down the road when taht trip comes...... tfo works if its what u want IMHO but sages are nice g-loomis makes great stuff too i love loop and there are half dozen other companies that make sick sticks too!
  4. a fun time... loave that opti coast.. never thought i could toss a whole line almost with one switch cast! gotta get one soon!
  5. had a buddy bring this up and if it were in my budget, i would be off too the races most definetly.. but either way i wanted too bring this too the board members attention... there is only 1 spot left! float the lower bulkley for wild steelhead.. This is a four day float trip on the canyon section of the Bulkley below Smithers that hosting with up to 3 anglers(2 rafts). This is the best section of the Bulkley as it includes the remote lower canyon where there is very little angling pressure due to limited access. drop me a pm for any further contact info!

  11. yup ide abe game for a few rounds aswell.... if not more
  12. tons of beer! just kidding....... jsut show up dude and toss a few lines!
  13. will try too attend this one.. got a switch, scandi and skagit all rigged up too toss
  14. try setting up with a shock look... (some slack in oyur line by your rod and reel) once u get teh hit drop the slack then set.. give the fish a chance to suck the fly back.. it could be the lateness on your hooksetting too. i prefer a strip set when streamer fishing.... but there could bea bunch of factors why u arnt hooing fish... it might jstu be a territorial responce too.
  15. had good luck with the hopper dropper today tight too the banks but once the rain stuck around i swung some streamers with some taps btu it wasnt stellar like the morning... best ebt is too rememebr fish's metabolism will drop with colder water temps.. baro pressure does affect fish to but they are still feeding u jstu halfto switch up your tactics and possibly location.. focus on teh slower water...
  16. ahh come on smitty u should know what it means being a former teacher .. have any younger teenage kids or grandkids kickin around? ask them... but really... i totally dissed dryfly because he take the worst photos

  19. super phat tight dope dude! amazing shots.. htanks for sharing
  20. yup they both ahve the rapid fire functions MTB .. LK is talking about interval shooting.. i use it alot.. u can set it up too take a pic every 10 seconds or 15seconds or 1 minutes etc anywere from 2-100 pics.. so u dont gotta do much other than set it up take the first shot then start fishing.. the digi will take the pic automatically every (how every many seconds u choose) automatically, hten turn itseld off n start back up take a pic and so on and so forth... get some sick action shots that way same with casting photos...
  21. that is trippy and oh so not cool all at teh same time... thanks for posting harps!
  22. i ahve the w30 optio and love it.. have friend who have both are they are both sick digi's one things the optio has like LK mentioned is the interval shooting same with a bunch of photo editing/picture stuff in teh camera that the olympus dosnt... same with teh macros way better and easier too do...but the olympus has a better shock proof, does take a better night shot and has a way better zoom if i had too do it again i would probably take the pentax but the olympus does have a few things iwith i had so its a tough call they are both sick cameras IMHO
  23. thats dope dude! thanks for sharing
  24. working at a shop for hte past few months it blew me away at the different poundage for the X system the tippet and leader companies use. so from what i have gathered the manufacturers are using the x system too rate the diametre of the tippet on tehre tapered leaders and there tippet spools too keep every the similar... and the biggest difference i have found is what you see iceman, pretty much all leaders and tippets have the same diametre for 3X or whatever use wish too use as your control... but! the poundage rating can be off from company too company by as much as 3 or 4 lbs. we have about 5 or 6 different comanies in our shop and on one 5x tapered leader pack the difference was huge ranging form 2.5lb too 4.4 lb depending on what tippet you use with the rest in between like 2.7, 3, 3.4 , 4.0 etc. long story short its best too buy the same leader tippet material as your leader so you dont have a huge difference in the LB test... its best too scan all teh packs by every company and pick the "best" for yourself... its not suprising either that some of teh cheaper stuff is the weaker material while the expencive companies are the tougher material with teh same X grade... hope that helps dude
  25. hells yea brother! a friendly hello goes a long way
