bowpiker all you needed this april!

its bin a while sin i tossed up a whack of photo's the past couple months has bin epic dryfly fishing on te bow and i have had a hard time to get away! but i was lucky too spend some time hunting walleye, bulltrout and slay a monster brookie on teh crow!! bizarre!!! totally fish of the year for me!!! had a ton of fun on teh river with some great people this spring.. looking forward too the summer! enjoy... the one that got away rainbow of the year?

harps made a good point! I use me self timer a ton! main reason I went with the pentax was it's intervol shooting mode! I can have it set up to take 20-30 pictures oneevery 10 seconds so once I have the fish after it's first run I have the camera on a rock already taking pictures! ie memorized the intervol so once I see the flash I know the rythem to count inmyhead before I get he next shot! u luck out n get some sick bent rod pics and fightig shots aswell and once I have the fish close I land landed lift thrush out of the water once I have a second or two left before the next shot, I remove he hook maybe get another one with he fish if I'm lucky then off she goes! dopest camera function ever in my opinion!

whatever u can afford dude! they get big but don't take more than one or two runs and they are typically short! they do have some major weight behing em tho! disc drag would be great for longevity that is forsure! my loop multi stood up fantastic last year with dozens of pike each week after work for the two months while I was fishin up there

ur doing great dude! it just takes practice I hardly handle my fish or move when I'm around them! try not to touch them move your feet have and rapid movement etc they see us as a preditor and will freak out if grabbed, feel vibration etc... mostly all fish I land are in and around a minute fight. te more hey thrash and the harder they swim away the more it shows they are scared or freaked out! it takes time to get the hang of it but icons most people try to grab a fish rather than cradle a fish and try keeping them in a few inches of water(wich u do going by ur pics) hope that helps

I just use a improved clinch knot and melt the tag end to smooth everything out! if I want to change heads during the day I just re-tie a few inches here n there isn't going to affect the running line much as fast as runnig out of line when casting! it is 110ft long and by the time I use 30 of it I should probably buy a new spool anyway! never really liked how the knot/ loop went through the guides if I was stripping streamer on the bow I find the clinch is much smoother

tungston has a great point! I wouldn't change a hing with your regular chronnie set up shen using your switch rod no need to fish any floating tip or sinker when nymphing Stillwater or streams!

last year or so I havnt bin bringing much with me! a tin full of a few dozen dries or nymphs or maybe ten streamers! but if I'm heading out to a spot to fish a little of eerything I could say 1000 or more! when pike or bulltrout fishing maybe 20! in my boat when I drift probably a few thousand! and when I guide maybe a few hundred! all over the chart I no! it just all depends on what I'm out to do!

I must say I'm super stoked on these rods! was a great time at both days at the clinics aswell! pics will be up shortly!

like tungsten mentioned it could be the wide gale hook on a she if that is the rig you are using, second it could be timing aswell being a little to late, another could be the distance between flies ifthey are too close u will foul more Iime 16" or so between flies and another option could be strikin on super subtle takes were u are just lining the fish and not getting takes but it is rubbing along side th because they are stacked on a seam or dropoff you are fishing... hope thet helps!

I love my waist highs I have the scierra n claudveil ones and they are both great but my next purchase will be dan baileys. little cheaper for the same wader! like u said the freedom and comfort is awsome! way more enjoyable during warmer days forsure! only drawback are I can't Wade as deep wich is a good and bad thing! I pick better and safer spots too cross now and don't push it like I use to and really push my casting to a new level not being able too get out armpit deep to hunt fish! and for the most part you never do that anyway! I don't think I will wear chest highs again!

I have made a dubbing brush machine a little different but I love it! excellent for cranking out a ton of streamers!

the smell sucks but like others have mentioned inwiuld strip the hackle sort them according too size leave them out for a few days too dry and air out then bag em! I've had similar products before. . . u might be able too eashhem too with a light soap bt I'm not sure if t would help much!

a couple i wont soon forget tied for longest heaviest i no, no bulltrout BUT she was my longest n heavieset bow "trout" by far the other that got tied for longest.. probably my most memorable fish
